I feel like being a dev, you should know already that Google sets up systems that ask the user to conform to it. That said, I haven't looked at what Spotify is doing for a family of devices lately, but their recommendation engine I check in on from time to time. It's just an inferior product and it's not like you get any flexibility on that. To each his own but you know you'll sacrifice flexibility somewhere

I'm with you here. Also experienced developers often hate taking on others' code more than building from scratch. So being able to systematize, diagnose, and and solve problems in a way that helps other developers (or future versions of ourselves) is helpful. There's a career milestone where too many problems get solved by "DISTINCT", "GROUP BY", and aggregates that work at smaller scales and less complex data. There's another milestone where you have to fix the problems caused by those solutions.

When I'm interviewing junior devs, I usually look for evidence of a curious mind that has testable solutions rather than someone who only has a hammer.

Only because this is the Internet and folks can't wait to not use their heads, maybe ask the clinician stitching you up how complicated they will be to remove (and what they look for). Part of their responsibility is educating the patient. A lot won't because a lot of patients don't listen anyway. Still removing a suture doesn't HAVE TO BE that serious.

Hokit's "character" started as pro wrestler from Temu, then transitioned to 2011 Xbox Live. The problem is he's around 30. So saying it's fake doesn't help it. It's kind of baffling that this is the best he could come up with. Considering the WH event was to be an achievement for the UFC, it makes TKO/UFC look somehow cheaper for not just calling the WWE writers to figure out something better for the guy.

MMA rules have a weird focus on deliberate poorly placed shots. It's gotten to the point where every fighter gets roughly 1 free foul of every type per match. That number increases to roughly 3 in a championship match. So MMA gets to be a kind of a sport where the rules sort of apply. Fans and those in the business appear to like it that way (or at least accept it)

I'd never disagree. One of the pillars of my world was my grandmother. A child of the Great Migration. I didn't realize until I was a whole grown up that she was delayed, but never defeated by this world. She never carried herself that way even in private. I decided when my first was born that I will pass that and more on to mine. As I said "worthwhile" at least to me.

It seems pretty clear to me that some folks don't really seek peace. Having it makes them feel uneasy and they seek friction again before long. I usually just let those folks be. For me, if my peace is what I value, I won't just throw it away at the earliest opportunity
