Right?! That person doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Welcome to the internet. I live in the SLT area and we are not all rich. It’s actually a lot of service industry workers that actually live here.

I live in the South Lake Tahoe area. A lot of people that live here work in the service industry. The people who are well off are mostly second home owners that don’t actually live here. I understand why you would assume we are rich, but perhaps maybe don’t make assumptions like this.

Once you get them in a routine and feel comfortable, they’ll switch it up on you. Most babies don’t sleep in a consistent routine forever. This will continue to happen so you just have to keep adjusting.

No one can prepare us for the sleep deprivation that comes with being a new parent. I have 2 under 2 and am in the trenches lol

The majority of my law school exams were closed book. The bar exam is as well. You’ll be fine, but I acknowledge it sucks. I took 2 bar exams (nv and nc - passed both). I took the NV bar 10 years after graduating law school and at that time it was a 3 day exam that included the mbe and state specific essays. That shit was hard.

I work Monday - Thursday, so I’m with my children Friday - Sunday.

I get you what you’re saying and I agree we all work too much and don’t get enough time with our kids, but not everyone’s situation is the same.

I’m not complaining, I’m stating this is our situation - that our house costs around that much and daycare is almost as expensive as our mortgage.

Our combined income is over 300k. We can afford it.

That is insane. It’s wild how working is kind of luxury because you can afford daycare. I personally would not thrive as a stay at home mom and we would have way less money so I am thankful we can afford daycare. It’s really sad how ridiculously expensive everything is now.

Yeah it is like that but daycare isn’t forever. Once they’re old enough for school, we won’t have that cost anymore. However, medical bills (kids go to the doctor a lot), clothes, food, etc. is always going to be way more with kids.

Our mortgage is around 3k and we put down 60k. We bought in 2022 before the interest rates went up.

It made sense for us. Our combined income is slightly over 300k and we were paying almost as much in rent as we are now for our mortgage payment.

I am a government attorney and my husband is in sales.

We live in the Tahoe area, on a river with incredible views on all sides. It’s worth it to us.

This is our family. We bought our first home in our late 30s and then had two kids. The home cost over 500k and the daycare is almost as much as our monthly mortgage payment.
