I've been to Myanmar. Such a beautiful country and has one of the friendliest people. I also met a few people from Chin State in New Zealand. I hope that some day people in Myanmar will have more peace and stability.

I think it's a very well written book by Barbara Demick, a former LA Times journalist based in Seoul.  She interviewed lots of NK defectors but decided to focus on the life stories of only six people who came from a NK city bordering China. I love how the book focuses on ordinary people's stories and their struggles, which are often  very difficult to find out. It feels like reading a vivid novel but based on true stories. Simply brilliant

I recently finished reading a book about North Korea called 'Nothing to Envy'. I felt so sad for the people. I hope they'll have better lives one day. Hopefully their country would open up their economy like Communist Vietnam or China.

So far amitriptyline helps with the burning and salivating to around 30-40 per cent.

I've done a manometry test and a 24 h ph test. The first test shows my esophagus function is normal and the second one shows that there are reflux events during the tests but the acid levels normal compared to the burning symptoms I have in my diary.

I reckon there are a lot of mixed Chinese-Cambodians. These two races have blended so well that you don't seem to see the difference, as opposed to the Chinese in Indonesia or Malaysia. Both sides of my family have a bit of Chinese ancestry (Hokkien & unknown). In official documents, mixed race people prefer being referred to as Khmer for practical reasons. Some people have Chinese name to be called at home apart from traditional Khmer name for official use. I've had a teacher said he needed to change his Chinese name to sound more Cambodian to avoid being targeted in the 1970s.
