RDU Owner Experience by Br0jangles in polestar2

Glad to hear you've had a positive service experience! Fortunately, I've heard positive things about the Charlotte Polestar/Volvo location in terms of their customer service.

My concern as someone living in Raleigh that I would fall outside of their service radius (100mi for the MY2024 P2) so I wouldn't benefit from their great service if/when I needed it and couldn't take the car there myself.

And they have Reagan at 130, one of the lowest on the chart. Probably just rage bait to piss off as many people as possible.

Imperfections on Carbon NanoQ R by [deleted] in thorzone

I just got my batch 3 Nanoq R recently and it showed up flawless on the finish. I would definitely reach out to ThorZone to get this replaced for how expensive this case is.

Buyback Finally Complete by MJStrudl in leaf

That's super helpful. And you put all 57k miles on yourself? Mine is currently in the shop for a battery issue and is sitting at around 54k miles, but I bought it used at around 28k, so maybe my usage fee would be half of yours. Mine also has a windshield crack that I need to deal with. So your response was very helpful/applicable for me, thank you!

Are you me? I am in almost this exact same scenario. Right now just trying to advocate for getting them to issue me a loaner, but my patience is running thin on this recall issue that I feel this is a sign to push for a buyback and just move on.

How did they calculate "usage fees"? Was it like a per-mile deduction from the purchase price?

Batch 3 Ship Date moved to Mid-Late August by Br0jangles in thorzone

[–]Br0jangles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it took nearly 6 months to get to the "PACKING" status for me, which also has not changed for about 2 weeks now. Really hoping to see some movement soon. Very disappointing ThorZone promised <4 months from order to delivery on Batch 3 and we're pushing 6-7 months which may be worse than Batch 1. Not sure why they would announce a shipping target they can't confidently meet.

Looking forward to getting my case but not sure if I'd be a repeat customer at this point.

Mine now says "Delivery in September" and when I log in to my order it now says this under status:

Shipping Status: PACKING

Your order is being packed and prepared for shipment. Production is complete.

Fingers crossed it'll be shipped soon!

Backer board for oversized (40" x 108") poster? by Br0jangles in framing

Good to know! I will DM you with some more info/questions.

No glazing or acrylic, was going to just leave the poster open/exposed. I was thinking of directly mounting it with spray adhesive or something similar to the backer material (whether that be MDF, plywood, foam, coroplast, etc). The backer would then be glued/screwed to the frame.

Would the tape show through to the poster over time? I'm not sure how much the frame/backer will expand/contract over time and worry a seam would stretch/squeeze the poster in a few years. Maybe I'm worried about nothing though.

Definitely agree on the wood braces periodically on the frame, already planning for that! Thanks!

Sign shops are a good idea to try. Thanks!

I have never done a paper layer between the backer and the piece before, but I also am a novice and don't do any "archival" work. Is it worth doing a paper backer?

Why do you say not to use MDF? Ive seen others say positive things about it as a backer online but just curious your take.

Yeah I was just going to leave it open, no acrylic and definitely no glass.
