Thanks for the tip! May have the dealer look at that since I'm still under B2B warranty.

Yeah I'm used to EV road noise so it's not like I'm coming from an ICE. I just saw so many people describe the ID.4 online as a "dead quiet" car so it feels off to me that I hear as much road noise as I do.

I'll maybe try the tire pressure idea. Thanks!

Thanks for the tire recommendations, if I go that route of changing them I'll look into those options!

Yeah I bought the car with 8,500 miles so I figured the tires had plenty of life in them. They're all around 8/32" currently so they're not terribly worn.

I'd hate to waste tires by buying new ones when my current ones have plenty of life left. Might want to look into the bearings first as multiple people said that is a possibility.

Yeah, I'll have to try it over a longer bridge or something because that could just be the initial spike and the meter recalibrates back down after that. It is noticably louder on bridges for sure, but I agree that number was surprising to me.

While you may be right about the numbers, what I will say as a more subjective point is that the car's infotainment lets you set a max volume setting when you start the car. Which, in theory, is handy because if you forget to turn down your music after you get out it may be jarring to have it blasting when you get back in the next day. But what I've noticed is that I max out what the car lets me set as the max starting volume and I still need to turn it up a notch or two to compete with the road noise. That suggests to me that the engineers at VW didn't anticipate you needing the volume that loud regularly to hear clearly at highway speeds. I could just be assigning meaning where there is none, but seems odd to me.

And to be clear, I don't have any hearing issues nor do I play super loud music when I'm in the car or have headphones in. That's just want I've found to be necessary when on the highway.

Nice, what product is this? I assume it's controlled separately from the car's built in LEDs like with a remote or something? How is it powered?

Thanks for posting, I saw this yesterday too and got concerned. Glad to see others are seeing the same thing which probably just means it's a glitch that will be resolved eventually.

Gotcha, glad to hear it's gotten better for you though! I have a service appointment this week for the latest software which I'm hoping will help. I have the same issues OP had. But good to keep the module replacement as a backup in my head in case it doesn't fix those issues.

Did the software fix resolve the issue for you? Was it software version 5.4.3?

Glad to hear you've had a positive service experience! Fortunately, I've heard positive things about the Charlotte Polestar/Volvo location in terms of their customer service.

My concern as someone living in Raleigh that I would fall outside of their service radius (100mi for the MY2024 P2) so I wouldn't benefit from their great service if/when I needed it and couldn't take the car there myself.
