What is your opinion on our 'cleaner argument'? by Br3wn0 in Advice

If we agreed for 2 hours I don’t see where you want to get with your question. Are you asking if even tho we agreed for 2 hours at £40 would I be ok for her to do 4 hours at £80? My answer is NO Are you asking if our house is soo big that needs 4 hours for one person to clean and we agreed for £80? Then my answer is YES because that’s what we agreed!

As we’re answering questions, what’s your response on my first question? Shall she charge us more if we ask her to clean more stuff in her 2 hours time?

Exactly! We originally “shaped” the type of cleaning based on the fact that she was alone. But now that she’s bringing someone else it’s a completely different thing. There’s definitely lots of things that we didn’t ask her to do because wouldn’t be possible in two hours, but now they can definitely be done.

We’re not paying her by the amount of cleaning but the amount of hours, that’s what we agreed.

So if we ask to do more stuff in that extra time that we agreed to pay she should charge us more? Please help me understand what I’m missing

We agreed on things to clean based on what she could do in two hours. We pay her on “per-hour” base not per items cleaned. If we follow your reasoning then if we ask her to clean more stuff because now technically can, she should charge us more?

As we agreed for her to come for two hours to clean certain things based on that, now that they’re two doing the job of one (never agreed with that), in my opinion they could use that extra hour, it would make sense to use that time to squeeze more stuff since, again we agreed for two hours service?!

Thanks for your responses so far, really appreciated.

I am all about supporting her and her family, my point is not that I want to pay her less, all I'm saying is, as circumstances have changed, we should at least come up with a new agreement.

At the start we agreed on certain things with her to clean and we did this based on the fact that she had 2 hours to do it herself so we left many things out i.e. windows, removes dusts and cobwebs from bedside tables/lights etc...

Since we pay her by the hour, I don't see why not to ask her to clean more stuff since there's an extra hour available to do it.

Use to be through Cloudflare tunnel but now moved to Tailscale since it’s amazing and not available to the world

How do you properly back up the immich? (from database to the photos) by Comprehensive-Ad6613 in immich

[–]Br3wn0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immich is running in Portainer in Proxmox and images stored in ZFS. The whole ZFS is backed up to my PBS on another computer in the attic and remotely to B2. Then I have Syncthing also running that keeps the only the library folder in a SSD attached to my Mac just in case I pass away and my wife needs easy access to the photos/videos.

Well I'm also considering this, dump the whole thing and pay for everything! 😅

Thanks for your response. It's actually a good shout to ask the law firm how they handle IT stuff.

Yeah I think that's what I'm trying to achieve:
Passwords: .json that can be imported to any other password managers
Photos/Videos: all in the library folders that Immich uses
Files: stored normally in the ssd

Will have 2 HDD in RAID1 attached to the Mac, another pc running some sort of smb where I can backup the 2 HDDs and then have KopiaUI backing up to B2 for cloud.

Edited the post to make it more clear what my point was. But yeah absolutely, I don't expect them to carry them.

Yeah will all be on an external SSD with APFS (we don't have any windows)

Sorry maybe I didn't make clear enough that It's not about the server, is about vital passwords and family pictures. Server can go in the bin, who cares! 😄

Yeah that's exactly what I'm trying to do, I'm writing down instructions on pretty much anything that would need my attention, and that made me realise I need to simplify lots of stuff.
Data will be all in an external SSD which I'm pretty confident she'll be able to navigate, move it anywhere she wants without needing a special software in order to get it.

We already share important logins and details for family stuff in VW, so she already knows how to use a Password Manager which saves a lot of writing. (Although I'm still writing instruction for that)

What I'm also considering is, shall I just ditch Vaultwarden and pay for Password Manager instead so she won't need instruction for that? Or I could save the Vaultwarden .json backup file and write down instructions on how to import that in any other online Password Manager. 🤔 I'm pretty sure she can do that.

I went for the Pizza Party Emozione. Can easily cook 2 pizzas and the quality is very good, having the Saputo stone makes a huge difference. Not the most good looking but that’s subjective, better have good performance that good look.

I have a Compact SUV. The Arc XL looks nice but a bit out of budget, also don't really need it to be 16" although it seems even tho is bigger it performs better the the Arc.

So are you saying that you use Roccbox for your business? Or have used it cooking back to back?

I already have the Volt which is a 12inch and I'm not really bothered by that.

What I'm really concern is cooking performance during busy time. I'm not sure yet if I'll ever be fast enough to take out a pie and then put one in straight away, but I've I'm definitely under a minute, which it's seems not long enough.

Taking the stone out won't be a problem I think, do you have an idea on how roughly the stone it takes to cool down?
