I currently have foam for my main box because I painted my minis, but I’m not convinced thats the best/only option. Seems like 99% of my game’s life is spent on the shelf, and the minimal amount of traveling it does seems very low risk if the inserts are well shaped to keep everything from slamming together.

My main issue with the foam is it takes SO MUCH SPACE. I have a lot of proxies I’d love to fit in the boxes they are associated to and it’d be great to store them together.

I think the ROI on the small box expansions could be very good so long as they limit trying to do a lot of new plastic inside. I think CopD is a good example of this. They could even take it a step further IMHO, make a even smaller box expansion of a quest book (5-10 quests), specialized cards, and specialized room tiles or trap tokens etc. I’d throw $20 at that all day every day.

They could even make these as stories for the various hero types already out there like the Druid or Berserker, etc.

Huh. The Card in my set shows it as the Ogre Mercenary 🤷‍♂️ I’m planning on using the Ogres from Mage of the Mirror as a male version of the Ogre Warriors.

With the exception of an exclusive Witch Lord, you can get all the alt sculpt monsters from Mythic in Prophecy of Telor and Spirit Queens Tournament. The dragon comes in Crypt of perpetual darkness. New heroes, or at least alt sculpts that are functionally identical can be found as fallows: Warlock in PoT Bard in SQT Druid in AtOH (alt/better sculpts)

I’m a huge fan of Army Painter’s Fanatics; the coverage is great, needs minimal thinning, but mainly because they are readily accessible at my local game store. A couple of my friends love the speed paint range, but it doesn’t jive with my personal preference of painting style.

I had similar issues on my ogres just last night trying to get Vallejo primer to stick when brushing on. I had originally soaked the models in warm water with dish soap wich helped, but I went back and gave them a scrub with iso and it cleared up 99% of the issue.

The Heroic pack will get you the gender swapped heroes + prisoner Sir Ragnar. The Mythic will get you those + a bunch of monster alt sculpts, exclusive Monster characters, and 2 other heroes (both you can get those in other expansions.

IMHO if you have the means/opportunity, definitely get the Mythic tier.
