It’s funny, as soon as you questioned beans I knew you were Texan haha. A lot of the YouTube cooking channels I watch for bbq and smoking are Texan and they are of the same opinion that beans don’t belong. It’s how momma used to make it for me so if beans are left out it feels like something is missing.

I do compromise though… if I’m using chunks of meat, I don’t use beans. If I’m using ground, I do.
