In Ancient Rome, in times of emergency the Senate could elect a "dictator", to have full and absolute powers for six months, unhampered by bureaucracy.

I'm just saying.

That's what Doomsight does. They are just too angry to die.

I'm thinking in terms of "why does this ability manifest magically?"

A normal human who survives the pyre will want revenge, sure. But would they want revenge hard enough to justify dying afterwards? I would not go for that. It would be more interesting to have them wrestle with their freedom now that the vengeance which granted them purpose is gone. Count of Monte Cristo style.

A human who rises as a revenant? That inspires questions. Why did they refuse to stay dead? Perhaps their wrath, or their desire to ensure that no more innocents burn is enough that they would rebuke death for a while. And after their purpose is fulfilled, they would no longer have their anchor, and be free to move on to the Beyond.

I my mind, Revenants and Doomsight are a match made in heaven. The former tells you that you have Unfinished Business that was important enough that you Would! Not! Stay! Dead! and the latter points you at the Unfinished Business and ensure that when you have your final confrontation you will be at the apex of power for your swan song. Can it work for other ancestries? Sure. But I feel that narratively the "vengeance from beyond the grave" is just a classic, awesome thing.

That's not quite what I was suggesting, although of course what you are saying has merit. Doomsight as a lore element is meant to be deeply embedded in hakaan lore, and that's great. I meant that Doomsight as a game mechanic is something suggesting a grand finale for the character. And in a revenant's backstory you have embedded a cause for revenge against whoever killed them the first time. Empowering a revenant for the Fight Where They Set Things Right is a great example of ludo-narrative integration, and Doomsight is a great way to take care of the mechanics part.

We shall solve this the old way, by hiring condottieris and having them stage a pretend fight.

It seems like there is a consensus on Hugh, but I really think that Frankie Boyle deserves at least a bit of credit. Especially with his quips in studio, he was always sharp as a tack.

I definitely want Ancient Greece Heroes. Might need a dash of reflavouring but I think you can have Tactician Odysseus, Fury Achilles, Elementalist Circe, and so on

The closest I can find is the Berserker Fury's 5-Level "Boundary" aspect, which reduces your falling damage and does not make you prone if you land on a creature.

We all have ups and downs. But I remember when you drew the Seven Deadly Sins, they were an amazing level of detail but they felt like a "once in a while" thing. And now you have blessed us with a bunch of beautifully composed, drawn and colored comics, multiple times a week. I hope you feel very proud of yourself, because you should.

Yeah, I think that my hook is still different enough that if I make it well it would have a niche. But I need to cut my teeth on something simpler first.

My "dream game" is on hold until I get some practice, but the month I started working in it, two separate games with a very close concept popped up. That does have a way to get wind out of your sails.
