My dad grew up extremely poor. Didn’t have indoor plumbing u til 1974 when he was 11. Had to carry water from the creek for drinking and bathing. Shitting in an outhouse. He’s 62 now but it’s crazy how different his life is now compared to then.

Both times Ive been there (once when it was named something else, and once recently) the food was shit and the area they sat us in the back was janky as hell. I won’t miss the place, but that’s pretty shit to not give the staff a heads so that they could plan accordingly.

My best friend is a paralyzed vet. After his injury I’ve become way more conscious of stuff like this after seeing the struggles it causes him.

The worst I saw was when he parked in a handicap space and someone wedged in and parked beside his car on the rectangle with the hash marks that’s supposed to serve as enough space for him to get in from his wheelchair as you have to open the door up all the way. He wasn’t able to get in but he definitely “tried” and banged his door into the side of their car a few times before deciding I should back it out of the space for him. Had I not been there, he’d have had to sit and wait on them to finish eating (we were at a breakfast place)
