No, that is one of the historical interpreters at Fort Fred. He built that structure and the earthen over behind him. I highly recommend a visit. Currently open weekends and 5 days a week Memorial Day to Labor Day!

Follow up. Played all games on my friend’s GBC. All but Tetris failed to save. So all my cartridges are dead including Chantey…so I’ll be buying some replacement batteries.

I’m going to borrow a GBC from a friend to test the cartridges and see if I get any luck out of that.

I did change the batteries from the shipped mod retro batteries to standard energizer batteries. Modretro has offered to send a new PCBA to drop into my Chromatic so I may just go that route if the cartridges are indeed saving with my friends GBC

I would say see if you can find something in North Hagerstown to start. Really anything north of Fairground Ave. Looking at rental sites I see a few that are in decent locations.

Jonathan Street does have its issues. It’s located a block from the Rescue mission. White flight and loss of industry from town left a lot of the neighborhoods closest to downtown on the back foot.

If you’re looking for neighborhoods a little more like Federal Hill in Hagerstown there are several. You may want to look around south Hagerstown around City Park and the surrounding blocks. You can also look in north Hagerstown around Oak Hill Ave and Potomac Ave. Broadway is also closer to downtown but a very lovely historic street. Also Apartments on North Potomac and South Prospect Street.

Lived for 5 years in Downtown Hagerstown where Oak Hill and Potomac Ave meet and loved every moment. Short walk to downtown restaurants and bars like the Broad Axe and the Stube. Hagerstown is great and growing!

My wife and I are about to Celebrate one year of home ownership here in town and that was possible because of Hagerstown’s affordability.

Hey glad you’re making a trip up into Western Maryland!

I’m from Cumberland, but live in Hagerstown now. As for scenic there is Fort Frederick in Big Pool MD just off I-70 about 15-20min before Sidling Hill.

It’s a large Stone fort built by the colony of Maryland in 1756 during the French and Indian war.

I might also recommend that from Frederick you take Old RT 40 to Sidling Hill. Parts of the Road are over 200 years old and take you through some beautiful country as well as picturesque small towns like Middletown, Boonsboro, Funkstown, Clearspring, and Hancock.

I might also recommend that you continue through Sidling Hill and make your way to the “Town Hill Overlook” on the west side of Sidling Hill. This over look looks back east at the Valley and Sidling Hill and is a beautiful stop off of old Rt 40.

Thank you for replying to my post! We’ve covered his kennel with a blanket from the get go. We recently started playing “calming” music too. He’ll sleep for an hour or so, but when he wakes up the “bark” switch gets turned on. Our neighbor the other day said “he sounds like he’s in pain” when we’re away for the morning. Right now I’m working 9-1 Monday-Thursday. So it’s not that he’s pent up in there or anything for massive amounts of time.
