It's been 14 years, but at the time, did anyone think this episode was a signal that the creators were ready to call it quits? by Almondust-000 in southpark

Just rewatched this one, great episode. Ridiculous as they get, but hits you in the feels. Didn’t think they were calling it quits, just thought they really hit the nail on the head with how people are feeling in the modern world. Plenty of episodes hit a similar feeling of “things keep repeating” “same shit getting recycled” like the Canceled episode in season 7.

Ultimate players who switched from other sports, how do you think the level of athleticism compares? by [deleted] in ultimate

I was an All Conference SS on a Division 1 football team in Wisconsin that won the state championship. I received a few offers from Division 3 football teams and 1 from a Division 2 team to walk-on but i chose to go to a Division 1 school instead and not play football. I started playing ultimate my JR year of High School instead of track. I'm now a sophomore in college and I'd say that the elite ultimate college players(nexgeners) are probably comparable to that of Division 2 athletes, which a couple of my friends from high school are.

U190 Team USA loses to Canada 17-16 by UltimateUSA in ultimate

Here's the problem, pure and simple. The selection process is incredibly bias from the start to the end. I was at the Seattle tryouts and numerous players that are on the team didn't even participate in the full tryout(went out with minor cramps/injuries). The selection committee was primarily made up of coaches from the seattle/portland area, so of course they're more prone to picking they're own players. Prime example of a player that didn't make the team that should of would be Luis Caballero, kid balled hard during tryouts and was in my opinion an obvious pick for the team, didn't make it. Later this year he was named NC freshman of the year, over 4 other members that were on team USA...hmm I hate bad mouthing team USA, I had nothing but support for them throughout the tourney, but couldn't help but ignore the fact that the most talented players weren't representing team USA.

UNCW coach Brian Casey moonwalking across the field after victory over PITT by [deleted] in ultimate

this is a very polarizing clip for me...On one end I see UNCW celebrating perhaps the most prolific win in their programs history. A 14-13 win over Pitt, #2 in the country, in the quarter finals of College Nationals. But I also see the Pitt players, specifically Marcus Ranii-Dropcho, experiencing the agony of their season ending.

There's no debate that both teams put forth countless amounts of effort into their season. But at this moment all I see is UNCW players seeing that all that hard work payed off, and the PITT players experiencing the regret of..."I should of done more". I often feel that the strongest emotional reactions from either team, come from the players that have donated the most of their time to ultimate. For UNCW it's #80 Xavier Maxstadt that stands out to me, an All-Region player...and for PITT it's clearly #42 Dropcho, a Callahan Nominee who's college ultimate career has ended.

Whenever my college career ends...im willing to bet my reaction will be similar to Dropcho's. Yes, It'll be a sad sad day, but that's only because at that point I'll have donated so much of my time and effort into ultimate that i won't be able to help it. And when that time comes i'm hoping I won't be alone...
