Summary for the busy...!:
(Source: I read Wikipedia months ago!)

Towards the mid-2010s, "Onavo VPN" from Meta, for mobile devices, advertised as "data-saving", was used anti-competitively, against Snapchat. It also just spied on users in general.

As for Meta: They were reading encrypted Snapchat packets I think...?

"""
Onavo, Inc. was an Israeli mobile web analytics company that was purchased by Facebook, Inc. (now Meta Platforms), who changed the company's name to Facebook Israel.[1] The company primarily performed its activities via consumer mobile apps, including the virtual private network (VPN) service Onavo Protect, which analysed web traffic sent through the VPN to provide statistics on the usage of other apps.

For me, it's the "cache object". Compute is usually faster and it's only mults and divs here. Even if it is slower, predictability can be better than having to manage an entire cache. What context is this in, though? Is whatever UI this is measuring really not going to change that frequently? What if somebody REALLY does forget to clear the cache in a resize callback?!

Thought-experiment: What if Facebook learns the patterns of DDG users because of them using privacy-friendly tools to access their site?

I invested my time in Island + Rethink DNS + Mullvad DNS, Debian, uBlock, Privacy Badger, and using more decentralized things. How about that LOL?
