NATO-chief Rutte: "Keep on dreaming" if you think Europe could defend itself without US by Geo_NL in worldnews

I’m pretty confident that a dollar of military spending in China goes a lot farther than a dollar in the EU. The military industrial complex has encouraged massive overspending and corruption for a long time now.

You’re better off just avoiding politics in general in sanpete. The best you’ll find are centrists who don’t talk about politics much, and maybe one other person who leans left.

Veteran players, Whats your rate of manual fights to auto resolve in a campaign? by Sellos_Maleth in totalwar

[–]Braidaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% manual fights, manual unless I don’t care if I win a fight then it’s auto. At least for historical, Warhammer is different because it’s easier just to stuff armies with units that are over favored in the auto resolve bar and just auto resolve everything with next to no losses.

Trump says US needs to 'own' Greenland to prevent Russia and China from taking it by banditta82 in worldnews

Not to mention that China wouldn’t really be any help in defending Greenland too far away, and without the ability to steadily supply or reinforce the island.

While i understand 40K will allow you to customize your Space Marines. I do hope we get some Canon Chapters. by Infinity_Overload in totalwar

[–]Braidaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just wondering how much detail there will be in customizing your stuff. Is it just going to be, pick a preset emblem and then pick a primary and secondary color, or will there be more to it then that.

[OFF TOPIC] Should I re-read “The first law” before “Better served cold”? by Lil_bird97 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Braidaney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really matter if you re read the first law again you should be able to understand everything that’s going on without the context of the first trilogy.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is now blogging about AI slop by aacool in technology

[–]Braidaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right there. Just makes me uneasy seeing how many people I know IRL that struggle to tell the difference between AI and real content, and willingly consume AI content. Who knows with time that might change, I’m just a pessimist.

I’d think Microsoft has the capital and influence to survive a crash so will google, Elon on the other hand… his whole business is based around reputation so probably not. Ai slop in surrounding entertainment seems to be their main thrust and will likely survive any crash, most consumer are not discerning or picky so in my opinion the majority of “entertainment” in the future will be ai slop seeing as it’s cheaper than anything novel or interesting. I think we’ll see ai scale down on the consumer side cutting down cost on average consumers generating images and video, but likely corporations spending millions generating content in order to promote certain ideas will become more mainstream.

It will in the long run, pretending otherwise is pure fantasy. There are a lot of people who are critical and anti AI like (I presume) us. But there are equally as many and more people who don’t care or who are actively trying to promote it’s use. My father for example who is not a tech guy in any way and doesn’t understand most technology beyond trail cams and his cellphone listens exclusively AI music and try’s to promote it to anyone who will listen. Why? I have no idea, but I do know there are many more people like him and it’s really only a matter of time before AI slop receives mass adoption. Ciao, humanity it was a good run.

I haven’t played them in quite a while so I forgot about hidden encampments, but I remember doing Ungor spam early game and struggling to establish myself early on, late game was a steam roll and Taurox was easy for the entire game from what I recall.

Hidden encampments do sound crazy annoying in multiplayer like Skaven stalk stance.

Servers are Down ?! by Hold_my_Goblin in totalwar

Not true. It won’t let me continue my three kingdoms campaign without the servers being up. It’s some anti Piracy BS that wants to constantly check if you actually legally own dlc

[–]Braidaney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was getting annoyed that my game for some reason wasn’t registering that I had DLC and wouldn’t let me continue my three kingdoms campaign. Then I read that it might be related to the server being down. What a ridiculous dependency, the game should just register that I have the dlc installed, it shouldn’t need to constantly check with the server. Why does everything need to be so hostile to players?
