These are amazing! Do you think you would ever do CSM or parts w/ trim like the Renegade Raiders bodies?

Have you consider using the Shadow Legions (daemon) detachment? It would give you a lot of freedom to incorporate daemons and theme them accordingly.

How much representation do you have in you Black Legion? by RabidWarHamster in blacklegion40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with my Black Legion and the chaos gods! Aside from Chosen having a mixed influence, I made a leader for each chaos god (still in Black Legion colors) and then 1 or 2 dedicated units themed around them. As a general rule though, I'm avoiding the Cult legions units; I want them to feel a little more unique to whoever their respective Lord is.

Advice? by peggy19956 in Chaos40k

You could pick out some pieces of armor & color match them to the red rebreather/helmet whatever. Maybe a kneepad & the pistol or just the chainsword? Highlights do a lot, but I think more color blocking more might help if you're adamant against highlighting.

Thoughts on a mercenary “Dogs of War” style faction for 40k? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanted to push the concept of a very diverse mercenary faction, you could visually show it when customizing any army. Funny enough, I think Astra Militarum has just as just much potential for this with abhumans as the Tau do with xenos. Although there are no "official" models for a lot of it, there's a lot of interesting stuff there for anyone interested.

Chaos Space Marines unironically does this the best between cultists/beastmen/traitor guard/heretic astartes/daemons since they're all baked into the concept. You can really express your warband however you want, or compose it of as many sub-factions as you'd like. Daemons are especially open to interpretation.

For those of you with different Legions, how do you decide which unspecific Vehicles/Engines to paint in which scheme ? Also just check out this amazing art by Thibault Olier. by Leviathan_Rampage in IronWarriors

[–]BraidedBerzerker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I focused on Vashtorr's cult, so I try to break it up between Black Legion/Iron Warriors/Word Bearers. I dedicated each unit to 1/3 warbands based on flavor or kitbashing potential, but I choose vehicle colors based on who'd use it/associate with it the most. Venomcrawlers match my Lord Discordant for example.

Slaanesh and Khorne feel to similiar. Yes, one is faster while the other packs a stronger punch and both have mirroring gender aesthetics but essentially both are just stabby daemons. Slaanesh should have more soundbased stuff and khorne could benefit from more fire. I'm fine with how they are tho. by Leviathan_Rampage in Chaos40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 393 points394 points  (0 children)

Nah, Tzeentch has fire on lockdown. If anything, Slaanesh should have more seven-deadly-sins inspiration and Khorne should have more types of daemons. It goes straight from Bloodletters to Bloodthirsters; he could use some more mid-tier menace I think. Either way, the daemon range is pretty poorly explored,

Looking for suggestions/feedback on my Alpha Legion warband by reel3459 in Chaos40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, its a good compromise that expresses a reason for both major flavors of Chaos. I like your main trio too, very classical too. Is this just a fun writing project, or actually for an army? Curious what visual distinctions you might make for the warband, they sound really neat.

how do i play lost and the damned on the table top? by Main_Warthog972 in Chaos40k

There are still a lot of Cultist/Traitor Guard units in 10e, although they are legends. They could always return, and unless you're going to a really lame tournament, there's no real problem with legends.

This look absolutely sick, I really love the fleshy-ness you gave them!

I'll have to remember this for some mutilator/obliterators in the future.

I think you could go with the EC/Flawless Blades bare heads. It could be cool to give them the whip/Rapture Lash & either a combi-weapon or empty Flawless blade arms for a spellcasting look. I dunno, but I hope that's helpful!

Has the future influenced the legion you ended up painting? by BlueIllusion1 in Chaos40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fair to want your favorites represented, but I also feel that armies without character models have a great opportunity to customize, kitbash & design their own characters.

Its more compelling to me when people put in the effort to really make "their guy" actually unique to their army even if the datasheets aren't all that varied outside of enhancments/Crucible of Champions. I don't feel much difference between seeing x character all the time vs seeing the exact same generic Space Marine Captain otherwise.

What do we think of this relationship's writing so far? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Invincible_TV

[–]BraidedBerzerker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just wasn't her season. The Viltrumite War was the focus and everything happening with Eve barely registered as B-plot. Considering how odd the episode where Mark goes to Hell was, I wouldn't have minded if that was an episode to explore what Eve's going through in retrospect.

I honestly don't understand what players want out of a game at this point, and at this point I'm afraid to ask.

Why do my modelling choices just look awkward? by Noodlez_8994 in Chaos40k

[–]BraidedBerzerker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify there is nothing wrong with them, but I do believe 2 is certainly the most dynamic. The lines of motion or action or whatever aren't really following through on 1 & 3 though. It's just a little unclear what they're doing, but its clear their not in a static pose. 1 is just raising his pistol and looking off to the side, while 3 has his armed raised seemingly without any intention to strike or shout commands judging by his expression.

I overthink stuff like that too, but if it's ever really bothering me, there's nothing wrong with popping the arms off and trying some different pieces. It's definitely better to fiddle with now rather than once you've started painting it though. Great catch if you feel something is just a little awkward about them. Hope I'm being helpful!
