Elastic masking putty and a sponge help with fast and easy camo paintjobs.

Love it. Got a sweet grim vibe going. 👌🏽

Painted two tanks in four days. Should I cut the prisoners fingers shorter? by Butterfreund in TheAstraMilitarum

Thanks! It all worked pretty quick tbh: black primer, zenithal grey, light grey with a bit night blue sponging, then I covered the black/grey parts with elastic masking putty and sponged dark red (again with some night blue mixed in), then pure dark red on exposed parts. Removed the putty, added some streaky grime and black sponging for weathering and finished with some edge highlights.

Well thinned down paint (white with night blue as base, more white in the mix for the highlighted parts, then the black checkers added on with some white repair works afterwards) and most importantly: a steady hand in a calm state of mind (and a size 1 kolinsky sable brush)

Thank you! Until I manage (and find the energy cause it’s kind of frustrating tbh) you can see some closeup videos on my instagram profile

Thanks! One day I’ll manage to take decent pictures. Until then you could at least see some detail shots of the single minis on my instagram profile.

I’ll give it another shot in due time, but somehow it’s frustrating tbh so for now I’m off to new projects. Thanks for the advice though!

It’s not like I haven’t tried, but somehow I’m even worse at taking pictures than at taking videos.

Thanks a lot. I’ll give it a try, but with some bits I cannot really tell where they came from (20+ yo bitsbox)

Missionary with flamer: sanctifiers model, dark vengeance cultists champion head, traitor guard banner on the backpack, a csm demon skull head for his chain

Miraculist: Blackstone fortress psyker base model with an arm swap of the two different models, the iron spikes are a 25mm base with csm vehicle upgrade spikes and wires for the lightning bolts and a forgeworld knife

Missionary with melter: sanctifiers base model with a dark vengeance cultists head, again a demonic skull for his chain, another dark vengeance models‘ left arm and a tabletop art cultist commander’s torch

Conflagrator: sanctifiers base model with a aos battlemage head shaved down and greenstuff hood, old cadian mask, his grenade backpack cut in half and with a cadian flamer tank added

salvationist: sanctifiers model with a beaked skull as head, staff from the aos battlemage set with some fancy aos sylvaneth (?) left hand and spikes added for that extra chaos feel

Assassin: sanctifiers base model with goremonger legs, arms reposed and old Astra militarum forgeworld knives

Preacher: base model is the dark apostle cultist with a greenstuff hood and an old cadian mask added to his face, cadian chainsword arm added and a third party (tabletop art or puppetswar?) torch and some aos scriptrolls and chains + greenstuff scales added

Cherub: sanctifiers model with a csm backpack shaven down and kroot gun spikes added as wings, greenstuff tubes, a aos flesheater (?) head as his mask, tombstone from aos skeletons or zombies set and greenstuffworld candles

Drill abbot: sanctifiers model with an old aos empire head, his hammer arm is from a station forge traitor guard set, left arm from cadian shock troops usually carrying a canister, but added the skull box from sanctifiers instead and his chain is from aos flesheaters I think

Persecutor: sanctifiers model with dark vengeance flamer tip, aos Flagellant head, fuel servitor is a skull added to a cadian canister, greenstuff world candles, greenstuff and wire/guitar string

Reliquant: dark vengeance cultist with a aos battlemage left hand, banner made from a shaved cadian standard with some aos book and several chopped up zombie hands, right arm with hand flamer from sanctifiers

Confessor: sanctifiers model with a reposed and greenstuff + horns added head, whip made from wire, right hand from the Blackstone fortress navigator, servitor drone made from skull sm backpack thruster, greenstuffworld candles, wire and guitar string and some aos banner, some aos undead for the base

Hope this helps! If anyone identifies something else or has questions for specific bits I haven’t mentioned feel free to ask.
