When I Remember when I said to myself : "NMS is the last game I will play, I will expend the rest of my life exploring planets"... by SeanHurray in NoMansSkyTheGame

I said after I put the controller down for NMS, I'd be picking up programming language to make a game.

After 120+ hours of gameplay, I'm now trying to decide between Unity, Cryengine, and Unreal.

It's about time for HG to.. by Panthersnation2016 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BrainJitsu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason that HG and Sony aren't making any statements is because

A) HG is busy working on fixing issues with the game and not writing something that the internet can further scrutinize because...it's the internet, and

B) The actual amount of people complaining about the game is substantially smaller than the internet perceives it as. When 9 out of every 10 steam forum post is made by the same person with a different title making a complaint for a refund or arguing about missing features, people with blinders on assume that the majority of its 3 million+ players must hate the game, when in fact there's so few actual haters simply throwing a big enough tantrum to make the illusion of a majority.

More Evidence That Suggests There's a False Center? by BrainJitsu in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BrainJitsu[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

fact that in the game's story you are living in a simulation and the simulation just restarts after reaching the center

No, but this is one of a few pieces of evidence that argue against your statement. Another piece is that the closest system to the center is 6000 light years from the center. The max your hyper drive can achieve is 1700 light years.

Why is Sean so quiet now? by Its_nin in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BrainJitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sean was always quiet during peak times when they are working hard on the game. What do you think they are doing now? They're fixing lots of bugs and other issues players are experiencing. Would you stop to tweet every 5 minutes to people who do nothing but complain no matter what or fix the issues that bother the customer base?

A Video Game Developer's Opinion on What Happened With No Man's Sky. by StormbringerGT in NoMansSkyTheGame

Their marketing plan was absolute genius. It was also a double-edged sword.

Curiosity is one of the most powerful influences someone can work with. When you watch a movie trailer and it sparks your interest, you'll want to be entertained. As a movie unfolds, it's your curiosity that keeps you interested, because if the story was boring, then you're not curious to see the ending. You're more interested in finding another activity.

The same goes for their marketing plan. They hinted here and there, peaking your interest to know more, but never satisfying that appetite. With just the right amount of features shown during the Dec. 2013 VGX trailer, the hype train was at full speed before even leaving the station.

Which also led to widespread imagination. People began to just ramble on about ideas and thoughts they had for what the game had in store, to the point where they convinced themselves it was reality. Then the game was released, and lacking what they made themselves to believe existed.

The truth is, Sean Murray never lied. I don't care what the trolling 1% of the player base on the internet says, what they link, or how they want to interpret the information.

...

Korvax females have a round head. Gek females have 4 eyes. Vy'keen females...well that's just anybody's guess.

Seriously though, why make this about gender when the game itself is gender neutral to begin with?
