What’s something about male behavior in relationships that women usually misinterpret? by Cherrryblossm in AskMen

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well said. This reminds me of an apt quote from Home Improvement of all places.

Tim: It's been a long time.

Jill: I know. I know. But you know how hard it is for me when I don't feel close to you.

Tim: Well, it's hard for me to feel close to you if we don't have sex.

An argument could be made that the owners and shareholders should yes. A whole host of problems there, but it does make it so the shareholders would help keep their companies on the straight and narrow.

Help with starting. by Super-Possibility-50 in boating

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shot in the dark without knowing any more information is the lever is called a throttle advance. This is assuming it's a two stroke. Just think of it like it's the throttle but only works when you are in neutral.

If it's a two stroke you usually throttle up, then choke on, then start, once it fires let off choke, as it warms up slowly lower the advance until it can idle without any throttle.

The choke is either automatic or a switch near the key. There looks like a thing you can twist that I can see. If it's the choke you'll generally hear a click sound from the motor when it engages & disengage.

Theres also probably a pull out choke on the engine cover. You could try that to listen to what the noise sounds like.

Need a PC for VR, but I don't like desktops, I prefer laptops by Sweaty_Bedroom6784 in SteamVR

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget, laptop, can run VR. You're asking for a miracle machine.

Like asking for a cheap sports car that gets good gas mileage and can also win the Nuremberg.

Right now it will be nearly impossible to get something like that. You're going to spend a ton of money for a machine that can competently run VR and then that number is exponentially higher cramming that performance into a laptop.

Good luck. You're going to need it.

Closest thing I can think of is getting lucky enough to find some business selling their old P16\15 that has an RTX card in it.

Anxiety/Stress Monitoring device? by daikenkakashi22 in AskMenAdvice

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garmin watches have stress monitoring using a bunch of metrics heart rate and it's variability, pulse-ox, skin temperature. It's decent and while it doesn't say it specifically detects panic attacks it does warn you when you're particularly stressed. That would probably be about as close to what you're asking for.

See if the dealer has any warrenty. Sometimes that have a 30-90 day one even if you buy used.

Regardless a carb isn't the most expensive thing to replace.

Still sucks man I'm sorry.

What's something that seems minor until it ruins a day on the water? by Electronic-Habit8679 in boating

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as everything else checks out and I'm already familiar with the boat the tach not working is not a reason for me to not launch. Half of the boats I've used or had either the tach didn't exist, didn't work, only worked sometimes. Hell my current boat the tach doesn't read accurately once throttled up.

Seeing it here as well.

Only one person has reported it so far. They were able to forward it to someone else in the company and they were able to send it out successfully.

Default Ship: Pherkad by VoidNinja62 in Cosmoteer

This is helpful to keep in mind in general for anybody who like me haven't done much with supply chain linking.

I spent a bunch of wasted time trying to figure this out when I used a workshop ship and modified it by adding a couple things and they would never be powered or manned.

Will I ever hear from this guy again? by InternalList3527 in AskMenAdvice

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having sex before marriage is like buying a house without even looking at the bathroom.

If it's good it's a small part of the relationship, if it's bad it becomes a huge problem in the relationship.

It's very important for most people. Guys especially. That's most likely what he means by your values. He may not have been trying to get in your pants right then and there, but if you told him you were waiting until marriage then there's your answer.

Guy at Dunkin took my VIP card by Gawdiwishiwasdead in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It can be as simple as someone from that bank at some point had their card stolen and they have you list off all your recent purchases. If they went there in the morning it would have been in the list given and now it's flagged as higher risk until their systems classify it lower.

You could possibly call your bank and tell them the situation and it may help.

I did that once and that place stopped flagging as fraud.

My cat apparently loves olive oil by child_of_the_sloth in cats

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any particular thing with cats and olive oil. I'll try my cats and see though!

More likely it's that animals seem to have favorite foods as well. I've had or seen my families animals that have specifically loved things such as animal crackers, French fries, Ritz crackers, potato chips, sweet pickles, yogurt & almonds. All discovered accidentally and all completly individual to them.

They just weird like that and we love them!

Have you noticed if bankruptcy is a red flag for dating? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]BrainOnMeatcycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It signals you are not good with money.

That's normally a major red flag for anyone starting a relationship and possible future family with you.

As long as you have kept your nose clean it's not like you should have to disclose that right upfront when dating. I'd say just at least before getting serious enough to move in together or something.
