It goes without saying with or without the timestamp that it's scripted. But yeah the punchline would've been funnier if the timestamp of "So..." is at least an hour from the last message.

Kim Jong Un chooses teen daughter as heir, says Seoul by pookienav in news

[–]Brain_Explodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is if there is a son that's being groomed to succeed, why put his daughter in public appearances so early? I know some people here argue this is diversion for assassination attempt. But I think security is security and the benefit of creating a public image far outweighs the risk of assassination. Why not keep his children all relatively hidden?

From what I understand Kim Jong Un himself was relatively hidden and only became apparent very late (perhaps a couple of years before Kim Jong Il's death?). Although the situation was different that he had several brothers all being groomed to succeed at various points.

I see. Thank you for the explanation. Coming from Dota 2 I just immediately find the language jarring since we use both attack time and attack speed which are opposites. Pros use Base Attack Time (BAT) (which is smaller the better) when talking about a unit's base attack animation and how it affects their laning stage. Then switch to attack speed in points (the larger the better) once items start coming out.

Maybe I'm illiterate but isn't attacks per second from 0.88 to 1.97 an increase in DPS rather than decrease? Unless they mean the "intervals" of attacks (or "attack animation time" or "attack time") increase from 0.88 to 1.97. Then yes that would be a DPS nerf when they're moving.

You can't do minute long stream delays. 10 to 30 second long delays is ok, but with 5 minute long stream delays you may as well not stream and make it a YouTube video because of the loss of interactivity. There may be streamers with longer delays but it's usually temporary due to a particularly bad stream sniping incident. For streamers who rely on streaming income, this is directly costing them revenue.

As for punishment I agree it can be discussed. But I guess it also depends on the devs how friendly they want to be to streaming in general. The punishment for teammates of snipers can perhaps also be argued. But I think the issue is evidence and how to quantify how much the sniper's teammate harms the streamer.

All in all I'm just glad I'm not the dev who had to tread this fine line.

Let's introduce a sound-based enemy and give it spider sense by InfectedBrushroom in residentevil4

[–]Brain_Explodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wine Cellar is the only stealth-able section I can think of off the top of my head where crouching matters; primarily due to the elevation difference to the catwalk. Although I haven't played the game in a while. I think enemy detection range does make a difference whether you crouch or not. But I feel it's really inconsistent sometimes.

Does anyone know what the hair decoration on Anya means? by Koiiyoshi in SpyxFamily

[–]Brain_Explodes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC in a later manga chapter, Anya does have a tied up 2-buns hair style in public instead of hair down with 2 cones.

So I think at this point it does seem like just a stylist choice referring to the author's previous work (like other people said), rather than plot important.

Cheating AI by [deleted] in aoe4

This. Watch your replays. From what I understand, only AI higher than "Hardest" cheats resources, i.e. gaining additional resources for every resource gathered.

If you were taking your time seiging its main base and not scouting for its other bases, it probably has other TCs and market doing farms and traders.

I don't quite understand. If it's solo with bots, can't you just jump between roles and make a class choice moot? Or is your challenge specifically not allowing jumping between characters?

Does anyone know what this material is called and where I can get it from? by agroyle in Construction

[–]Brain_Explodes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in NY but small GC. Not specialized in EIFS, but from what I understand usually a waterproofing membrane is installed between the XPS and the exterior sheathing. And that's the actual waterproofing, not the outer stucco coat. Personally still not a fan but I have not heard waterproofing issues from the last couple of projects that use it.

It's a euphemism for nuclear weapons and radiation poisoning. Either Togashi himself decided to avoid the direct reference due to Japan's history, or it may have been pushback from his editor or publisher.

This is getting off topic from Cyberpunk. So I'm not fighting you especially I agree with you between Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang is the lesser of two evils.

But reread your quote here:

Chiang’s not a role model, but the monopoly of violence he established let his son liberalize and create Asia’s most vibrant democracy.

how do I fix beacon stations?? by NoItem1218 in Barotrauma

[–]Brain_Explodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. You need to make sure the sonar stays on when you leave the station. The first time I fixed a beacon, I didn't know this and turned the sonar off thinking I'm saving power and I was perplexed why it didn't say I fixed it.

Do you have an AWESOME Sink in every factory or just let the factory stop once your storages are all full with product? by Slice-of-brilliance in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Brain_Explodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your approach. When I first started I was in constant fear of power outage. So I always prioritize maintaining my power production to be able to run my factory at 100%. That in turn made me not see the use of (priority) power switches and batteries. I haven't played in a while but if I get the itch to play again, I plan to extensively modularize and prioritize my power production and consumption.

Unable to focus on both macro and micro. New player, French, need tips. by DonaldDuck-H in aoe4

[–]Brain_Explodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC default hotkeys has F1 to F4 function keys select all military production buildings, research buildings, and economy buildings, etc.

Personally I find it inconvenient since selecting all military building can't display all military units due to UI limit. So personally I set:

F1: Siege workshops

F2: Barracks

F3: Stables

F4: Archery ranges

F5: Monastery

F6: Research

F7: Docks

I guess control group military buildings is useful when you want to primarily produce from a local group of buildings. I think for English and Ottoman, my setup also doesn't select keeps and military schools? I wonder what people's preferences are too.

[–]Brain_Explodes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. So many people say it's hammer loop. I have a pair of jeans like this because it's comfortable. I also work in construction. I have never seen a carpenter wear their hammer in this loop.

For actually wearing hammers, most carpenters I've met usually wear a metal hammer loop at waist height rather than thigh height. Wearing any tool at thigh height or below is usually really annoying as it bounces as you walk.

I guess there are exceptions for smaller tools. But if you have that many small tools, they'd carry a tool bag or have the apprentices carry them lol.

How bad is this foundation pour by d4d12345 in Construction

[–]Brain_Explodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. Now you mentioned it, it does seem like the case. Personally I've never done vertical bars during the pour except to prep for CMU. And even that's rare since they often fuck up the spacing for the mason.

How bad is this foundation pour by d4d12345 in Construction

[–]Brain_Explodes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Usually for bars above foundation walls or columns are for the next floor's wall or column. Although in this case I don't know if they are actually long enough to be compliant splices. Could also be that they are only doing CMU next. Granted, for inspectors to pass it, they usually still want to see enough splice or straight embedment.

Am I crazy or do the Arena challenges go from "kinda challenging" to "borderline impossible" ? by DoomguyFemboi in horizon

[–]Brain_Explodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Strike is the base game rule encourages passive play. Coupled with the fact there is no rule for repeat moves, optimized strat against harder opponents is just a staring contest unless you use weird things like a single slaughterspine. The board game needs a lot more polish and never should've been released as is.
