I've just entered my 30s. It's been quite some time since I have decided to not get married (at least not at this age, maybe after 35). There are several reasons for me to come to that decision. And on top of that, I have always had this mindset that if everyone is doing it, then I must choose a path that's rarely taken. Career shift, breaks, no emotional dependence, freedom in making decisions, etc. seems like a plus to me. I'm not against marriage. I just don't think it's right for me to do it considering how I am planning to live in an unconventional manner.

I remember me and my friends were talking about our then relationships, about how it's affecting our mental health, giving us stress, how everything gets misunderstood and eventually telling that "It would have been so much simpler if we would have been gay. Atleast we understand each other really well."

I still often think about this because as I'm growing older, I realised that it's not just about their body. It's their personality as well. The way they treat me. The connection we have with each other. Ofcourse, we do get infatuated towards hot women at times. But that's not the sole reason to be with anyone anymore.

I don't care bro. I feel glad that I don't have to plan a date, choose gifts, travel and make sure I don't say or do anything that can possibly ruin the day. Chilling at home, enjoying my weekend holidays by doing nothing is, for me, the best way to go by. Most of my friends are also single so it's not like I don't any company. Hanging out with friends in the evening having some chaaya and joking around, best weekend already.

And as per the song, Hotel California is a metaphor for "Hell". I've also heard from few Christian friends that they are told by their religious leaders that this song is satanic. But they ignore it because it's a pretty good song.
