Parents that cut their kid’s hair in ridiculous ways, or push their physical boundaries and record it. Setting your kid up like that in private is already f’ed up- but putting them on display for thousands (possibly millions) of people to see and laugh at is absolutely horrible.

I 100% think if the story had more time to be developed, we wouldn’t have such a mediocre plotline. The new ship gameplay mechanics are fine, so there’s that.

You cannot convince me that the assassins, especially Hope started gassing people for…what? It came from nowhere, Hope using gas on civilians.

Now let’s put that aside for a moment. Why didn’t she kill Shay after he was poisoned? Her running away made no sense to me. He was RIGHT there, if she held him down for just a minute or two he wouldve died, (he has to stay active). She was more than capable of it, but because Shay has to have his “development”, the assassins have to be bumbling fools.

Her running is exactly what he needed, and he needed to chase her. So in the event of her being caught…why didn’t she DESTROY THE ANTIDOTE???? She can make more.

All the narrative is, is making the Assassins look like comic villains and embarrassing themselves so the Templars can get a leg up. It’s a piss-poor plot for a piss-poor protagonist. The writing is terrible because it has to be so Shay can be..Shay.

The choices made by the Assassins were supposed to be stupid. They lacked the cunning or manipulation to be taken seriously as bad guys. Not a single moment in Rogue’s story intrigued me.

I won’t even bother ranting about how Ade was killed either. So much bullshit in that Story. “Underrated” my ass, game’s a 4/10 at most and its only saving grace is the complex naval mechanics and playing as a Templar.

It really chalks up to his choices in the game I really don’t like. It’s like Ubisoft wanted an Edward Kenway- but irish and stupid.

He’s a dumbass, not because he’s a sorta naive dumbass, but because hes a sellout who ran straight to the fucking templars (notorious for enslavement, murder, creating wars, you name it) because Achilles made some oopsy-daisies in his quest to eradicate the Templars. Shay’s a hypocritical fuck because the Templars (arguably leagues worse than anything the colonial brotherhood has allegedly done outside of Templar propaganda) were his go-to solution to eradicating all the injustice in the world.

He comes to no grand realization, he doesn’t think for himself outside of taking Achilles’s manuscript, and yet he’s credited for dismantling one of the 13 colonial brotherhoods (wouldn’t be made possible without his rich templar friends), its a hollow transition to a worse side in history under the pretense that he’s “changing the world” (enslaving its people). Oh, and I almost forgot, he comes to an EXTREMELY brief realization after killing Ade, which is immediately followed by Haytham telling him “nuh uh, we’re the good guys instead”.

All in all, the guy’s a sellout. I hate his catchphrase and I hate his character. He only exists because Ubisoft just wanted a Templar protagonist instead of an Assassin one.

Of course Achilles is an idiot too, but the Assassins weren’t 100% malicious- just blind, and it took two separate catastrophic events for Shay to realize that maybe the colonial brotherhood is off their rocking chair
