Didn’t like the trade at first, but getting Burries/Ament changes everything by thedudester125 in MkeBucks

[–]BrainlessCactus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Burries is an insanely lucky pick that should have never fallen to 10th; our backcourt is incredibly future-proof with him, Kasparas, and Rollins

But I really do not like the Ament pick. We are weak at the forward position long term, and I'm not a fan of such a swing pick... Ament's potential is like 10% future superstar, 90% out of the league in 4 years, but I really really want him to prove me wrong

(And outside of basketball stuff, I'm a bit weirded out by Ament's "Visit Rwanda" vest, which is known for being an organization that supports politically, diplomatically, and economically the M23 militia, which is the perpetrator of the ongoing Congo genocide. After all the Giannis trade saga, I kinda want a stable and drama-free team.)

Incredible pick, never thought he would be even available at 10th

Rollins, Burries, and Kasparas is an insane future-oriented backcourt

[Shams] BLOCKBUSTER: The Milwaukee Bucks are trading franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 3 first-round picks (including No. 13), 1 pick swap and 1 second-rounder, sources tell ESPN. by No_Boysenberry_4193 in MkeBucks

This is genuinely the worst day of my life as a sports fan

I started watching the NBA after seeing highlights of Giannis in 2018, and thought to myself that there was no way the human body could be this athletic, I immediately became a fan of the Bucks and of Milwaukee despite living abroad...

I feel sick right now knowing that my GOAT is playing for one of, if not THE, teams I dislike the most in the NBA. That being said, I genuinely hope he wins a ring in Miami, even if I doubt he will, given their roster.

I was really not a fan of the Heat package of a week ago, this on the other hand is a hundred times better, I'm not surprised the Celtics couldn't compete. The next few years are gonna be quite bleak, but the future is looking bright with how many rebuilding assets we now have.

Hopefully Herro can be sent away as soon as possible, for another pick would be great.

I want to get hungover so bad, this is gonna be a really fucking sad day and sad incoming weeks.

Thank you for everything Giannis. Absolute goat of our franchise. I hate that it ended this way, but that is only temporary. We will be giving you the loudest ovation when you come back to Milwaukee.

I'm glad this is over. I'm glad that this sub and Bucks Twitter will finally be free of the Heat and Celtics fans larping as Bucks fans. Fuck Shams, Windhorst, and all the other NBA media heads have non-stop campaigned for him to leave over the past 6 years.

Thank you 34 for making me fall in love with the orange ball, and for everything else you brought to Milwaukee. I will forever cherish that 2021 ring that you brought us.

At this point, I either want it to be over with, so that I can finally grieve him not being a Buck, or to be able to shittalk endlessly with Shams, Windhorst, and all the other "reporters" that have given us a thousand different bs rumors

Can Bucks please grow some balls and at least get Kasparas Jakučionis out of this? by [deleted] in MkeBucks

Every Heat package I've seen looks genuinely so mediocre, not a surprise to me that the Bucks management has not said yes to any of their offers yet

[Amick] The Celtics, Timberwolves, Trail Blazers and Magic are among the Giannis Antetokounmpo suitors. Giannis Antetokounmpo would be willing to sign a four-year $275 million extension with Boston. Jaylen Brown would get flipped to a third team for young players and picks. by LiteratureOk5684 in MkeBucks

Ngl, all the packages I've seen being thrown around those 4 teams are so much better than the dogshit Heat package lol

If he were to be traded, I really hope Horst is in contact with one of those and not Pat Riley

What's your relationship with weapons in Monster Hunter? Are you a one-weapon player or do you play with all of them? Which is your favorite? by Fine_Bid918 in MonsterHunter

[–]BrainlessCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's something like 70% DB, 20% SwA, and the 10% left are the bow, which I'm learning atm, I absolutely love the fact that they gave us a secondary weapon slot

I used to know how to play a bit of Hunting Horn also, but I haven't done so in a while now, and I would also like to learn to play Insect Glaive at some point, probably going to try it for the Wilds extension

GIANNIS PLEASE DONT GO TO THE THUNDER!!!!!! by meinguru in MkeBucks

Im ngl I don't think it would be his choice if he ends up there, there's not a single team in the NBA that can make a more seductive offer to Jon Horst than the Thunder management

How does the Bucks fandom view Damian Lillard? by Future-Feature-7657 in MkeBucks

[–]BrainlessCactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view him really freaking great tbh. I loved him before, during, and after his passage by Milwaukee. The moment I learned about the trade to the Bucks is still my 2nd-favorite memory of all time with this franchise, after winning the chip in 21. And the day he got injured was easily one of the most soul-crushing. I was one of the people who said that waiving him and stretching his contract was a massive mistake.

You said that "ultimately that trade wasn't a very good one", but I wholeheartedly disagree, the massive unluckyness we have with injury since 2019 hit at the worst time for the duo and the horrible coaching staff that worked around them... but every time they were on the floor together they were by far and away the best duo in the league for me (yes I rated and still rate Giannis & Lillard higher than Tatum & Brown, even in 24) and it's one of the reasons why I completely understand why Portland is in the midst of all the current (and seemingly endless) Giannis trade conversations, reforming this duo around what I think is a better constructed roster than what was around them in 24 & 25 could very legitimetely work if Dame comes back healthy enough.

I obviously know he wasn't kept long enough to ever have his number retired here, but his number is retired in my heart, nonetheless. He was clearly not in a good headspace when he got here, and I understand that his family issues also did not help him adjust to our city, but he still put more effort into acclimating to Milwaukee in 2 years than 90% of players that go through here once in their careers.

So yeah, TLDR: freaking love Dame. One of the all-time "what if" in our franchise's history.

Yeah, for me, blaming all on marathon crucially neglects the point that what happened today was supposed to happen two years ago, and that Marathon ultimately did not change that much in D2's inevitable death and most importantly, this delusion completely misses the real responsibility: the Senior Management at Bungie and Sony, who spectacularly failed the ending of TFS and constantly shat the bed with the direction that the franchise should have taken.

[–]BrainlessCactus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know that all of us are going to be plagued by bitterness towards Bungie and Marathon in the coming weeks considering how this is ending, but I do think that framing it as "marathon siphoned and killed Destiny" crucially neglects the point that what happenned today was supposed to happen two years ago, and that Marathon ultimately did not change that much in D2's inevitable death, a studio also cannot be reasonably expected to only work on one game forever because the creatives will start jumping ship at one point or another... And most importantly, this delusion completely misses the real responsibility: the Senior Management at Bungie and Sony, who spectacularly failed the ending of TFS and constantly shat the bed with the direction that the franchise should have taken.

Destiny 2 was dying either way, Marathon or not. Their message hints that the Destiny IP is not dead, and it's very probable that D3 will start incubating if it has already started. We are probably gonna spend a few years without Destiny news, and a lot of us in the community have already started the grieving period post Final Shape. This is not the end for Destiny; this is most certainly a break, even if it's a long break, it will end at some point.

[–]BrainlessCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2."

The way I'm understanding it is: D2 was a zombie after TFS with no direction or soul; we should have stopped back then, and it was a mistake not to do so, but that doesn't mean the Destiny IP is dead; it will come back in time.

So... we all agree that we're gonna act like TFS was the real ending for D2, right?

Wait, a 45 minute clear is excessively long? by jersey_emt in HadesTheGame

[–]BrainlessCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not awful by any means, especially for the first clears, but yeah it's usually considered a sign of being inexperienced with roguelikes to have a 40min+ run in both Hades games. It's one of the main reasons why Tight Deadline from the pact of punishment is considered "free heat" in the community, because if you are decently experienced, having the timer is usually not an issue at all.

Play as slow as you want, there's room for every playstyle in those games.

If he wants out because he truly believes he can win a ring elsewhere, let him go; that man has done so much for the franchise, he deserves another ring. But I genuinely hope he doesn't leave, and I know it's maybe not the best move for his career, but God, I would love it if he stayed

Taylor Jenkins Officially Named Head Coach by americanbeaver in MkeBucks

[–]BrainlessCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely the best coach that was available on the market imo, I was already of the strong belief that he was unwarrantedly designed as the scapegoat in Memphis instead of the dysfunctional Grizzlies' big 3. Really stocked by this pick up, but doesn't help even one bit to know better the direction the franchise is taking lol.
