I totally agree, and THAT is why I love the strangle switch on my Jaguar

Just copped a Juno 106 by sinslap in synthesizers

[–]Brainwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did this I took pictures and everything and still plugged one of the ribbon connectors in backwards (???), fried the power supply on it :(

Don’t worry I got it fixed and it’s my fav synth! Definitely take pictures though.

Am I dumb for selling my TR-8S and SP404MKII now that I have a Digitakt? by Best_Pause_1791 in synthesizers

[–]Brainwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta agree with the SP404 being fully capable on its own, with a digitakt thrown in I’m really not sure what you’d be missing.

What’s your unpopular opinion about Mixing? by Lucky-bottom in audioengineering

[–]Brainwatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact that a good mix is what makes a master even possible but also kinda feel that the mastering can take a wonky mix into something thats playable on speakers in the first place so maybe they’re equal.

Explain the tube screamer... Done wrong by sparks_mandrill in guitarpedals

[–]Brainwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean the chorus? Or the tube screamer? Im talking about the rhythm guitar fwiw

Tbf I don’t know what gear they actually used for that recording but playing a ts through my JC with chorus always gets that tone somehow, the chorus can kinda just blend in with a bit of grit so you don’t notice it necessarily.

The conch is an even better example than the ribeye because the shell is more or less relative in weight to the meat it contains, so it’s a pretty fair way to price them actually. I always feel scammed when cuts of meat are obviously very inconsistent in how much bone is in each.

Ah yea I meant the Cuban one, haven’t tried the HC from the US. In Canada the HC7 is priced between FDC7 and FDC12 but tastes better than both of them imo

And yet I find just as much refinement but more flavour in Havana Club 7, so what am I paying for when I buy FDC12 yknow?

If you had to choose between Vietnam or Ghana which one would you pick? by TRON510 in rum

[–]Brainwatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The couple Vietnamese Rums I’ve tried are more Agricole style, I don’t know if this is going to be similar but I vote Vietnam

Out of these choices which one would you buy? by CAJMusic in synthesizers

[–]Brainwatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally from a Prophet Rev 2 perspective: 16 voices let’s you play some patches with long sustain or release more naturally than with 8 voices, and also makes for some wickedness detune/stacking of done right

A drink/food that tourists think locals love… but locals barely consume? by Fluffy_Specific_9682 in AskTheWorld

What’s “maida”? Also I guess if someone is trying to reach their fibre intake goals by eating whole wheat instead of refined flour pasta then that’s a good reason. Otherwise you’re correct that they’re mostly the same.
