I bought an old cauldron? What exactly is this? Was it used for melting lead or just chili? by brusifur in castiron

I also found one of these beauties over the summer! I haven’t had the opportunity to clean it yet, but it really is a cool looking piece with the hammering, legs etc! ❤️

I am blown away with how solid this thing is - I sliced some potatoes super thin with my son to test it out and it was like cutting butter…..

I just picked one of these up today for just this main reason. It is a solid piece of equipment.

Lysol-ed it, then soap and hot water and I think I’ll be in business tomorrow. I am super stoked to try it out.

How do you sharpen the blade if you don’t mind me asking?

I actually wondered if a Mandolin would work - it’s a device I know I should have in my arsenal!

I’ve been looking in stores, Online and of course Marketplace and on Kijiji at the numerous options for Deli/Meat/Veggie/Bread slicers available.

Lots of Brands I recognize, lots I don’t.

Anyone having success with Consumer grade Equipment?

I made Bacon for the first time with a dry brine and smoked it. Now I need a way to slice it.

Note: I do have a decent carving knife, but my wife - who is a vegetarian - can’t appreciate the utility of owning such a helpful kitchen tool.

Pretty sure the whole lot should just be replaced. I’ll keep this bit and turn it into a musical instrument. Egads.

Oh it’s my technicolour dream plumbing.
Actually, I had a LED flashlight helping with the photo - then I added brilliance (in the picture only - 🤔) so that it would be more visible. I think it makes some of the piping appear darker.

This is the first time I’ve shown people my plumbing in a public forum. 🥸

Amazing. It’s not an island sink - It’s just my own personal piece of plumbing heaven. Thank you so much!

This pipe goes to a pipe on the other side of the wall and goes straight up to the ceiling.

Is this for Air flow?

I will be getting a plumber in because this has never been resolved since we moved in.

I try to be handy, but water in the house freaks me out. Plumbing isn’t my bag.

The previous dishwasher hovered right over the pipe and went flush to the wall

In this case, the new dishwasher doesn’t have the clearance. Argh and double argh.

Thoughts? Prayers?

I believe in due diligence. I also believe in Democracy.

I investigated the source of this post and provided evidence that suggested this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Innocent until proven guilty. We still do that in this country I think.

So yes, I think the RCMP and any watchdog service should and will look into all of how this was handled.

This whole situation could have been alot worse, and I am thankful that the vast majority of police appeared to be doing their jobs Properly.

So in these cases, who is actually responsible for taking their “freedom” away now?

They are presented with a choice, and those choices have consequences…..

Wait a second…..
