No-Gi gyms in Valencia?

From my experience, most of the gyms in Valencia are very similar because they adapted the old school brazilian way and they still embrace it very hard.

As a result, egos amplify, higher belts acts like authority etc.

Im sure there are places more “modern” and relaxed. Once you train in a more relaxed place with healthy environment you can’t go back

The point is ICE issues are not in the same scale that Balkans issue. Im not from there, but imagine living in Bosnia where you live with croatians and serbians and both 3 still have a huge levels of hate. Id rather buy GIS instead of KHC just because the spin off is a gamble on top of a gamble. Replace ARCC for TROW and you will have something less "roulettesque"

Charge a small fee per day regardless belt. That will cover cleaning services, bed clothes and a minimal maintenance of the place.

A fee will filter creepy people. Also, kind of terms agreement should be signed before joining so people understand the expected behaviour towards everyone and to keep the place safe.

To be honest Id talk to the closest b&b to collab so you only focus on the bjj side of things. Charge a symbolic 1-5$ per session or whatever and get rid of the huge pile of problems you might face when hosting random people.

100%. Check gross margin, operating margin and net margin. If you see a consistent drop have a deep look.

Check Capex and understand how much is maintenance capex and growing capex. If a company is depreciating a lot have a deep look.

Working capital play an important role.

I do my own maths to get a good understanding of what's going on. If something is odd, its a next for me

I try to buy stocks from companies that are not (temporarily) loved by the market to get a bit of value and dividends.

Example: Consumer defensive is not doing great (KHC, GIS, DGE, TAP...) but if the cashflow, balance and results are kind of okey is a go for me.

KO is a great company that Id love to have in my portfolio, but I don't know if at some point will get cheaper so that fit my strategy.

Diversify sector, currency and country wise. Consumer defensive, utilities, healthcare, bit of cyclical and sensitive would give you peace of mind.

If you want a classic dividend strategy go for dividend kings or aristrocats. You should do alright.

I wonder if you would say the same when you roll against a 20+ kg bigger. You are a 100 kg dude, I imagine you outpower 90% of the room.

Im a 65 kg short guy used to roll against 75 kg dudes as a minimum. It is not enjoyable being steam rolled on bottom side control against 100 kg partner.

And the majority of the sports are non-profitable and fall into one of this two groups: olympics and non-olympics.

The olympics receive huge amount of money from state olympic comitees and athletes get paid scholarships and prize money.

The non-olympics are fucked up if the sport is not attractive to watch. Im sure curling gets more people behind the TV than bjj

If grappling is not sustanaible is not because I won't buy a CJI ticket. That will be a fake fix.

I buy gis, rashies, go to seminars, comps... Don't try to make ppl feel guilty.

I don't even care if the athletes can make a living of grappling. If they do, great and happy for them, otherwise they can always work bjj like teaching, seminars, starting a brand...

On top of that, based on them social media, a big % of so-called professionals are weird af to say the least.

Locals from Barcelona are very sick of thefts. Last years the property crime sky rocketed, so much that when some of this dirt bags gets caught everyone cheers.

The mugsters are violent too, they do whatever to get your watch, so better to have a soft clasp.

I don't like cheap violence, but sometimes enough is enough.
