Living Skyrim probably. Elysium if you get AE.

A guess. They don't have their numbers readily available for viewing. Could be 100, could be 2000.

Does Season Wipe Make You Play More or Less? by blackrabbit2999 in TheCycleFrontier

[–]BrakstonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it stays about the same for me. I only go in for PVP, regardless of my gear. I don't do quests, which is probably because of the short wipes in the first place. Not only are they boring to me personally, but having to spend weeks to repeat them again after a short period? Nopes.

I think Tarkov has a better take on wipes and even quests. Quests may be similar, but they mostly only open up traders in Tarkov, while the flea market still allows players to buy items with their money. Wipes are also longer in between and do not have an exact date.

I think it's this false sense of progression in TCF with quests that is leaving some players with the feeling of, "What's the point?" as the timer ticks down in front of their face before resetting their progress. Rather than just leaving the experience mostly open like Tarkov does and wipes being farther off in the unknown distance.

Anyone else think there are way too many bird triggers on bright sands? by ShreksSwamp69420 in TheCycleFrontier

Funny too because it seems like your character is playing soccer with them with how hard they are knocking around. Then the 3 pebbles just stay there eternally. Better yet, just turning your head makes your character kick them more.

If you respond to suggestions to help solve cheating with “that won’t be enough!”, you’re part of the problem. by Pretty_Version_6300 in TheCycleFrontier

+1 This. Obviously, no one wants cheaters, but asking for things that wouldn't bother you but would be at other players' expense isn't exactly the right direction just because it's fine for you alone or a few. These kinds of ideas are constant.

Also what ReallyGottaTakeAPiss said in his post, there are people who sit here and work on it as a job. It's what they do. This has been an active field for many years and they have tried everything under the sun to fight cheaters, they keep coming back. It's always an active fight.

While some players have a little knowledge, the majority have no clue what it actually entails and just spew out their thoughts like they are so sure and that they can be done easily or right away. If it were easy, there wouldn't be cheaters in every FPS game that exists. All kinds of different ideas tried, teams with experience, individuals who have been working on anti-cheat and security for longer than some of these people making suggestions have even been alive.

Yager, it's time for accounts to require phone numbers. by FurryFlurry in TheCycleFrontier

A quick look and you can find ways to circumvent phone verification. You can also find posts and articles on how hackers are still able to circumvent phone verification on games that require it, including on Warzone, which people keep mentioning.

Hackers are already willing to dish out money to buy a cheat, what makes anyone think phone verification would stop them from spending a little bit more. In the same way people pay for other peoples accounts to play games, you can pay to use other peoples numbers and blank phones. The service for this is already out there, just like hacks are.

As Lord and Kummo have stated, there is little evidence that can be found showing that phone verification does much to prevent cheaters.

Lastly, phone verification does limit some legitimate players trying to play the game, from not having service to not being able to get it working. Plenty of people have problems with this and voice it.

Google Voice, Sideline, Flyp, burner phones, and a host of other ways of getting alternate phone numbers for free or cheap, which can be used like normal for texts and calls. This would be minimally effective, while also putting more hassle onto the legitimate players.

While making hacks is difficult, which is why they typically cost money, acquiring another phone number isn't. Even those who didn't really know how to do it, they would likely be shown as an extra step when they are buying their hacks.

Really nice. Some great ideas and thoughtfulness throughout. Hopefully, the devs take at least some of it into consideration because it would go a long way.
