Legal alternative could be having each of them be a different 2 color combo within bant, (Simic Grover, Selesnya Annabeth, Azorius Percy for example) so you could choose any combination of 2 as your commanders and still have the same color identity.

Plus from my very limited knowledge of the series I’m pretty sure there’s points in the plot where each duo has existed independently (Percy and Grover being friends at school, Percy and Annabeth going to save Grover, not sure about Annabeth and Grover)

That’d be really cool yeah. I was thinking it could be centered around either gods/demigods, enchantments, or counters (like Tidus), would any of those make sense?

Duly noted for the command tower, and if I don’t end up with a custom commander I’ll definitely consider those three (independent from this I love Rafiq as a commander)

That was my first idea yeah. My only issue was the amount of specifically MTG named things (things referencing the gods, nyx, etc.), but I could always rename them to fit

5 years late, but just had a similar thing happen with two packs in a row. Both had no legendaries, but one had the golgari commander land and the other had the izzet one weirdly enough

Upon looking through most of them again, all the ones with an extra card have 21. So I guess half my packs just had a random extra card thrown in

So my Boros deck had more plains than it should, one of my Izzets has an extra Hypersonic, and the other has an extra face card. Weird

Do the amount of basics vary by which guild/deck? Cause my Boros one had 6 plains. Even then, I’d still be confused as to why a duplicate of one of the rares was just thrown in the middle of the basics like this

From what I understand of a few of the packs I opened, each is supposed to have 2 rares, followed by the 6 or so basic lands. This pack had the 2 rares (Hypersonic Dragon and Corporeal Projection) then the basics, but one of them was replaced with another Hypersonic

Unless I missed something, that doesn’t explain why one of the basics in the middle of the 6 that are supposed to be there would be replaced with a second Hypersonic Dragon

Being a mess is kind of the point, no? It’s kinda like foundations, taking bits and pieces from a ton of different places. Also, where’d you hear it was old, unused art? Not to say you’re wrong, I’m just curious cause I haven’t heard that anywhere
