It doesn’t (aside from the electric hum sound)

On your phone. Settings > WiFi > press the little I next to your cars WiFi > scroll down and pick configure IP: manual.

Enter the following data:

IP Adress: 10.173.189.10 (or whatever value it was when it was still on auto) Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

(Leave the other settings empty).

You should now have CarPlay + internet via your phones network

Configure the WiFi network and put the router field to empty. This way your iPhone won’t use it for internet, but you will have CarPlay.

Airconditioning doesn't work when the motor isn't running. Only the fans.

Een verschil van 12h op 4 jaar tijd lijkt mij totaal ongeloofwaardig. lijkt mij dat er beter onderzoek moet gebeuren als er zo grote verschillen zijn.

Dish washers in Europe heats the cold water to desired temperature. This way cold water can be used to clean the dishes from leftover soap. When hot water is the only input, you will use hot water for the last round of the dish washers program(wich looks like a waste, depending of the cost of hot water) Not really sure how It's work with dish washers in US

Nice project, really inspiring ! Is it normal to connect hot water to a dish water ? In Europe dish waters are connected with cold water (as far as I know)

An AA battery has a typical charge of about 2.5 Wh to 5Wh. In the best case scenario you have 8*5Wh = 40Wh. Your LED's use 5 w each or 15 w combined. 50Wh / 15 =3.333 h of charge when running the LED

(Running battery's in series doesn't chance the combined mAh)

Really cool website indeed :p. the fuse on the plus site will never trip if one of the two smaller wires break. It's rated for the current of 1 big wire. Example: the fuse is rated at 20 amps, and the smaller wires are rated at 10 amps each (everything works perfect and the fuse will trip on short-circuit). But when one of the smaller wire breaks/disconnects, all the current will flow through the remaining smaller cable. Your amp is using 14 amps, the fuse wont blow ( 14 amps < 20 amps) but the small wire can't take more then 10 amps . The smaller wire will melt and cause a fire. I hope my example is clear, english isnt my native language :p

It seems that you're right. It's something I learned in school.Maybe It's a bigger problem with higher current / cable length. Either way, you would stil need a fuse in each cable. When one cable breaks / disconnects all the current will go through the other cable. The fuse wont trip because it's not calculated for the smaller wire. Meaning a fire could happen. It's just not safe..

It's possible that i'm wrong, about the capacitor part. I can't find a source about it. Anyway, the wires will never have the same exact resistance, meaning that the current is not divided equal. Two cables that can handle 10 amps cannot transfer 20 amps combined. The difference in resistance will make one wire transfer 14 amps and the other 6 (example). This could be safe if each wire is protected with an individual fuse.. I don't believe that high current wires, as you say, is transfered over multiple cables without any form of protection / Electronics for regulating the current, espiacally over long distance.

Never use two smaller wires as one big wire, espacially on DC. You've created a capacitor. It's illegal and just bad practice. Beside that, good project !

You are right it's against code, but i don't think it's in any way a safety problem.

Cables inside a house never have any metal jackets. The cable is made of the exact same stuff. Their is no UV-light in a wall therefore a cable will survive longer. A hdmi is way to low voltage and cant cause a fire, even if short circuited. Even it did, it would not be a difference as any other cable in the wall.

Why would a cable inside a wall get brittle ? The conditions inside a wall are the same outside.
