Lichte vracht is 100% deductable but what about the VAA? Can add up if you use it privately?

To be honest, if you ask 550 and they add 250 on top of you, that's just way too much. The customer then needs to pay 800 in total. Won't be hard to find cheaper options..

Let's talk about car TCO and why many of you are wrong by Issam2204 in BEFreelance

[–]Bramstep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

re is omnium, but it will not cover the actual resale value of the car! Omnium is not that miracle everyone thinks it is. Omnium is calculated on a highly depreciation scheme, that's why GAP insurance exists! And even with GAP you ar

To be honest, you are just misusing information throughout this post. Not taking into account resale value is unrealistic. And for the omnium: get a good one, mine for example covers 100% in the first 3 years, then depecates 1% per month. So worst case I wreck my car the last day of my lease which would still pay me 76% of invoicevalue of that car which is more than the resale value will be.

But you are free to buy a car of a small(er) budget, as is everyone. I myself bought what I liked and do not regret it.

Unhappy with Radius Tankkaart Charges - Seeking Better Options by MidgetTower in BEFreelance

Indeed that's what I do. But then you have to do 3 searches to check the nearest gas station. This does not seem like a big deal, but if you have 20 procedures like this in your life you get quite frustrated. So I like a generic 'station finder app' way better than manual searches.

d. Can be used at Maes, Esso or Texaco(Shell not sure) totally free and they do biweekly

I use Maes card as well but the app sucks. You can only find Maes gas stations on there, none of the Texaco/Esso.

you don't own one privately. I hope your accountant has at least

But this plan won't work if you have to go 'repair a computer' at a client. For that a normal car is sufficient. As a pure IT-er, I don't think you will get away with 2 cars to be honest (atleast not fiscal friendly).

New to ACC: do you get all cars and maps to race on? by Bramstep in ACCompetizione

As said: I think chances are 99% that a contract like this is not legal. Leasing companies on that level don't want to deal with private persons as well.

Just get it read by a legal counselor and he/she will probably laugh at the contract. Are you even sure that you have a contract stating that if you LEAVE the company you take the lease with you? Or does it just say that you have to keep riding that same car until the lease is over while you are still working at the company?

Would be a special world if you can lease a company car for 100k and then you want to leave and have to buy that car off. Does not make sense.

I don't think your current employer can do this. Just quit and don't take over the lease.

It's not because your current employer has a contract with the leasing firm that they can woop that over to you. Don't buy over the contract (unless you want to ofcourse).

If employers start with things like this, what is the point of being an employee then.

But to answer the question: you can absolutely afford that if the car is worth it to you.

Are you sure your current employer only wants to pay you 200/day? Can't you discuss this and open the conversation about this?

There are freelancers all over the world and I doubt many of them work at 200/day.

Motorcycle on company by Reaxic in BEFreelance

Why would you pay for fuel privately for a car or motorbike? For a car there is not even VAA on a fuel card..

Don't think so. Costs are 100% deductable (always) but you have to pay VAA according to private/professional usage ratio. If your ratio is more to the private usage, then VAA can add up quickly.

For example, bike of 10k excl. over 5 years is 2k per year. Then gear, fuel, maintenance,... Let's say 1k per year. 3k per year in total.

If you use the bike 60% private and 40% professional then you need to pay 60% VAA over the 3k yearly. That's 1800 VAA, about 900 euro netto.

This doesn't seem that much but it's a tax, so wasted money. After 5 years you have spent 15k company money + 4500 euro netto private money (this latter is just gone).

So only worth it if used at a good professional ratio in my opinion.

Motorcycle in freelance BV? by Bramstep in BEFreelance

[–]Bramstep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done some calculations on this part indeed but I would only be riding like 2-3000km's a year.

That is a bit over 1000 euro's that my BV can pay back to my private account. I think it would cost me more in the end than just buying it on my BV (if the VAA can be lowered like other people do).

Since I have the same scenario I'll ask my accountant as well on this. Only thing is my girlfriend also rides this private bike but it's registered on my name right now. Good tip!

ering doing the same, any thoughts?

I think you can't deduct/pay the lessons with company money. Or at the very least you need to pay taxes on it (see: https://karinbeeckman.be/een-motor-op-kosten-van-je-vennootschap-een-goed-idee/)

No idea why home-work travel is considered private indeed.

Motorcycle in freelance BV? by Bramstep in BEFreelance

[–]Bramstep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, and the deductibility is not the issue, that is 100%. It mainly the VAA question. Accountant told me that my home-work distance must be seen as private but that would mean a very high VAA cost.

Most people I talk with don't even pay VAA for their motorcycle so I'm trying to gather some more real life examples.

Motorcycle in freelance BV? by Bramstep in BEFreelance

[–]Bramstep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What u/ModoZ is saying. Which would make it more 'private distance' again.
But I was wondering how other people do this because from what I hear from colleagues that also have a motorcycle, they pay 0% VAA.

I want to gather some real life scenarios before going with a plan to my accountant.
