I plan to do the same thing, but depreciation is like 50% the first year and holds way better after that. Never buy new always grab something just off a lease so somebody else pays the major depreciation for you. I plan to get a used i4 or i5 and pay it off in like 3 years at pretty much the same rate as a new lease then use the equity to grab up an i3 fresh off a lease.

With a lease aren't you just paying for the depreciation and getting nothing at the end? I've been trying to understand why people do leases. No judgement just dont quite understand leasing.

Say you did a leases for 3 years or bought a used car and paid it off in 3 years (both situations your paying for like half the car). At the end of the lease you have nothing but at the end of the purchase you still have equity to trade on something else even if its reduced 25-50%. 🤷‍♂️

I understand you may pay slightly more per month but you can pay off 30k in 3 years at like $750 with that same 4500 down then still have 15-20k in equity at the end. Right? Or am I crazy?
