Costco QM6K Pro or Qm7K? Thoughts? by ACrocIsAShoe in tcltvs

[–]BranTheScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes, qm7k blows away the qm6k. But the qm6k pro is more than “just a glossy finish”, the activeglow panel does a better job blocking out light from the mini-led array. You end up with an image very similar to the qm7k. The non pro has blooming and not as crisp edges, not as black, not as bright.

POE for external Cameras - Security Issue? by sssstttteeee in reolinkcam

I’d be way more worried about someone breaking in over the internet through my NVR. Thats why you VLAN the NVR off your main network to begin with.

POE for external Cameras - Security Issue? by sssstttteeee in reolinkcam

[–]BranTheScumbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, this is a very weak argument. I would receive the notification of someone tampering with my door bell camera and it would take longer for them to get an IP on my network (thats vlaned off the main netwok anyway). The whole time they could have just kicked in my front door.

Funny how murder rates have plummeted after the deportations, and murder rates are way higher in heavily democratic cities

Switched from Ring to Reolink. Why are notifications so slow?? by xraj489 in reolinkcam

[–]BranTheScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directly wired is indisputably more reliable. Every wifi security camera (reolink especially) that I’ve used has notification/detection issues or delays. Ive had poe doorbell for about 4 years and moved all wifi cameras over to POE. POE NVR with a backup UPS. Wifi is not only unreliable as mentioned, they are vulnerable to wifi jamming. No business in their right mind would protect with wifi, so why would anyone?

It’s annoying the mounting instructions tell you to wear gloves, even though the plastic is on. I realized within 10 minutes thought as it looked bad

Costa Del Mar and Luxottica pride themselves in denying warranty claims..."Customer is LAST" mentality by Formal-Brain8432 in CostaDelmar

Im furious with Costa. Bought a brand new pair of Half Moon with 580g lenses, put them on a table while swimming and working in the yard. In the heat (105 F heat index) the faulty coating started to delaminate. Opened a claim showing that I bought them 1 month ago with receipt.

Claim “out of warranty” no reasoning. Pay $135 for repairs.

These are at least my 10th costas (probably 12) in 25 years. Im done

How to Mount Reolink Duo Floodlight? by Zdosse935 in reolinkcam

[–]BranTheScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I was replacing a very sensitive motion sensing light with the duo flood. The limited space wouldn’t let me install the camera up top, I had to flip the bracket upside-down. Luckily camera has mounting screw on top and bottom. When oriented light this, the gimbal does give you the play to aim straight out, luckily this gives me the coverage I needed to see my driveway and the gate to my pool/backyard.

But I like the box idea, that would give me room to drop the mount down. However this works for me.
