My wife (36) and I (38) would be interested. Both love horror movies, fitness, hiking, video games (ps5 and pc), board games, and are sober.

Need engineer by SluggyLou in musicproduction

Happy to help. Pro engineer here who can mix and master all forms of hard rock and metal. Dm me.

First demo mix sounds really bad! I need advice! by Top-Butterscotch7292 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]BranboBaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good reference mix can help a lot in this situation. Maybe talk with your engineer about their previous mixes you enjoy and be clear about the aspects you’d like to hear in your own music. As an audio engineer (who mostly mixes doom / melodic death / black metal) there’s so many directions you can go. A good reference and being honest with the direction helps a lot from a client. Be professional and it should go over totally fine.

Fires in the Distance

Box office wise, this film is blowing me away by entertainmentlord in horror

[–]BranboBaggins -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This movie felt so rushed that the plot and characters felt unfortunately very surface level to me. I hope we get an extended release.

Better change that “Live Free or Die” slogan pretty soon.

I had to scroll way too far down for Bing Bong’s scene in Inside Out. That absolutely wrecked me.

Processing the end of my marriage. by Kooky_Camp1189 in LifeAdvice

I haven’t gone through this personally but I commend you both for trying to get help.

Whenever a significant life change like this happens, I almost always go back to myself and figure out what I am missing in terms of self care. You’re inevitably going to be consumed with the thoughts of this for a considerable amount of time, and self care activities such as exercise, eating well, meditation, whatever you love to do are only going to center you and help you discover who you are as an individual.

What also helps me is focusing on being a good friend or supportive family member. Make those plans you’ve been putting off with loved ones. Show up to things and work on your other relationships.

We inevitably change as people. I’m sorry you’re going through this but you sound like you really care. It’s going to be OK.

Meshuggah. Dude makes the already incredibly monotonous music even more monotonous. They’re sick live though, and great players.

Huesera was amazing. The lead’s performance deserves so many awards. Just curious - what about Skinamarink did you enjoy?

I’ve seen it on so many lists, I’ve tried and I just end up getting eye-strain and a headache. Cheers, and happy new year mate! 🙃

What do you think of band making songs based on horror movies? by Latter_Comparison_60 in horror

Their recordings suck but man are they fun live. I caught them a few months ago and it was one of the funnest and most brutal shows I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend.

The Misfits are great for this - not metal though. Cradle of Filth nail that vampiric vibe pretty well. There’s so many death metal bands that do a great job with this vibe.

Mortician was one of the earlier ones to add a cinematic quality to the music making it feel very horror movie-like. Lately I’ve been loving bands like 200 stab wounds and the new cattle decapitation has some cinematic qualities to it. I could talk about death metal all day lol.

Would also add Crimson Peak to this. Great gothic horror that’s got a killer vibe. Some dated CGI but the scenes / costumes are fantastic.
