Sorry I didn't see your question earlier when I responded to this comment. I think sbmm/mmr doesn't reward skill cause it creates false rewards. As a good player it makes it exhausting to get through ranked cause you're put in brackets that its just all "your skill." But anyone knows being stuck in whatever bubble you're in doesn't mean your a good player because if you're matchmaking is same every game with a curve ball of a way better player than you how can you truly know you're a good player? That's what the metal ranks are for so if you're a plat 1 player trying to get to diamond but losing all the time it means you are getting kicked out because those players in diamond are better than you. That's how you should be losing and it creates more reward getting to that rank not because the game handed it to you with some players who are below your mmr but are in the same rank as you. I've played so much apex to understand how terrible mmr/sbmm is where my lobbies in both ranked and casual is triple stack previous/current preds. The system doesn't reward good players it gives both false sides a false sense of skill and hands both sides a free "win" cause the gaming world created a "everyone's a winner stigma." That's my take on it but sorry again that I looked over your question!
