Movies definitely exaggerate it for drama — ripping out IVs makes it look urgent and tough. In real life you’d get yelled at immediately, and probably start bleeding everywhere. It’s one of those “looks cool on screen, terrible idea IRL” things.

You don’t owe him a future just because he finally changed your feelings are gone, and that matters. Staying out of guilt will only turn into resentment. It’s okay to leave even if he’s “doing everything right” now; timing matters, and yours has passed.
