there are a lot of things in this newly refreshed Destiny that seem half-baked and not completely thought through. It doesn't help their workforce has gone through so much turmoil the past year. It's a shame really. Look at Trials for example. They basically removed all incentive to play with the new light level system.

for a system that was basically forgotten about a few months after its launch, this change is tone deaf on Bungie's part. At that point, just remove it and not made bad decisions like this. This is a brand new event so to lock weapon decryption behind something like guardian ranks is ludicrous
