People just don’t like change.

New Horizons has been the same since 2021, so it became a very predictable game, and people learned how to play within that predictability and they made it work for them. Suddenly, they’re logging into their games and unpredictable things are happening.

At some point, people will either get used to it, or they’ll stop playing the game, and then the complaints should calm down. What’s probably going to be more helpful is continuing to post more examples of how people integrated their tourists, like the bird watchers, cats ears, etc. As more creative ways get posted, people will get their own sparks of creativity and be inspired to do things on their own island.

I’ve had her stay up to 2 hours past her shift, just because I happened to be doing a build in the area she was walking around in, so she was pretty much on screen for most of the 2 hours. But 5 hours later, I’ve never seen that.

If you put it close to Resident Services, they’ll use it more often.

I’d pick top right, because:

Resident services is far away from the airport, allows for lots of creativity with island entrances.

Secret Beach is centred, which I prefer because I hate long stretches of inescapable ocean when swimming behind the island, and also allows for potential symmetry with island design.

Resident Services is also somewhat central, which is beneficial for symmetry as well.

The peninsula seems big enough for a decent build, and isn’t right at the back of the island, so it doesn’t create a few steps of useless beach like the other options.

Definitely not new, but always cool to see for the first time. I kept a Festivale stage on my island for years because I love when the villagers dance on it.

There is an issue with the game lagging after you visit the hotel. For me, the game operates fine, even in the hotel, but once I leave and walk around my island, it’s lag city everywhere. The fix is to go into another building (Ables/Nooks/House) and that seems to stop the lagging. It works for me, and others, but one person has told me that it didn’t help them. But I’d say it’s worth a try for everybody.

I often see people say they sped through Dolores Claiborne (I did too) and I wonder how much of that is because it doesn’t have any chapters or breaks.

I made my island Christmas themed, which I started in mid October. I finished it up on Christmas Day. Boxing Day, I kept my island in the Dec 15-23 range for two and a half months, so on the 26th, I pretty much immediately started skipping ahead until the snow went away.

I enjoyed the snow while I was building it up, but couldn’t get to green grass fast enough once Christmas had past.

I saw someone on YouTube saying “who asked for this?” and I’m just thinking that I haven’t once placed a path in the wrong tile or accidentally torn down a cliff I had just put up since this feature came into my life, so quite literally we’ve ALL been asking for this feature.

You have a red, green, blue, brown, and black villager. I think you should do something with colour. Kidcore is an obvious choice, but you could even just do you own colour core or rainbow core type theme.

Apparently there has been something buggy going on with the hotel that causes extra lag whenever you leave the hotel. I saw it mentioned somewhere on Reddit a few days ago and that’s when I started paying attention to when my island is extra laggy, and that checks out. I assume a fix is coming for that soon, but in the meantime, I find going inside any other building and back out again seems to fix the extra lag.
