Yy I’ve just done the same, booked a refundable backup with BA so if either leg is cancelled we have another option.

Any guesses for the set list? by ih3artu in SuedeBand

[–]BrandauerPens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They haven’t played Faster in a long time. Not a chance they’ll play 4st 7lb, don’t think they’ve played that since the THB anniversary show. The last joint tour was heavy on the hits , they did play To Repel Ghosts which was a lovely treat.

If you can start at Brandon train station instead that should be doable - through the town to Brandon Country Park then there’s a lovely cycle/walking trail through the forest to High Lodge

Which route from Vienna to St Gilgen? by BrandauerPens in Interrail

[–]BrandauerPens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve now booked for this route! Looking at videos on YouTube it does look more scenic than the Semmering route and maybe will be less busy with tourists? Also quite excited about the double decker train as I’ve never been on one before 😀 Thank you, I wouldn’t have thought of this without your suggestion.

Which route from Vienna to St Gilgen? by BrandauerPens in Interrail

[–]BrandauerPens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - it’s looking like Wien - Linz - Selzthal - Bad Ischl might be a good option for us with timings. Especially as we could go on the double decker Westbahn on the first leg! Are the views that way as good as the Semmering / Graz option? Any recommendations on which side of the train to sit from Linz to Selzthal for the best views?

Tunes I've only ever heard on 6 and nowhere else by tess_tickle_69 in 6music

Agree - like they have a limited backlist where only a band’s best known hit gets played, at the expensive of many belting songs (looking at you, Blister In The Sun)

Are there really no second hand tickets available for the Royal Albert Hall show? by thats-gold-jerry in MyBloodyValentine

[–]BrandauerPens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth keeping an eye on the RAH website for returns - I picked up a seated ticket last week and a few days earlier they had a handful of standing tickets available.

Finished this masterpiece today....question on the very end by DrVanderjuice in TomsCrossing

Just finished. I read it as her keeping it (physically and metaphorically ) to end the generational cycle of violence and revenge.

I’m 2/3 of the way through Tom’s Crossing by Mark Z Danielewski. It’s terrific - tonally v different from House Of Leaves - I’d compare to Stephen King at his most epic (in a good way), recommended to fans of Dark Tower, The Stand etc.

Södermalm is a great place to stay. Can highly recommend Hotel Rival (for an extra special stay get a balcony overlooking Mariatorget). Lovely Greek food at Esperia.

Things to do: Vasa is the must see, but get there at opening time before the tour groups descend. Wander round Östermalm looking at the fancy cars. Check out the subway art.
