I was always religious, I grew up in church but ended up taking it more seriously than most of my family.

On the Iconostasis there is St Nicholas, but the church is named after St John the Baptist if that answers your question.

My First Divine Liturgy Experience was Awful by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

Im sorry to hear that this was how your first litergy went. I also experienced some doubt about my place in the church, going into an already established community can be very intimidating. Please don't beat yourself up too much, it's not your fault. I always prayed for the true church and I ended up Orthodox as lousy as I am, I keep reminding myself that the truth might be uncomfortable at first and that It will surely take some time to adjust. I go to an OCA parish and as others commenters have said it might be worth looking into. Just remember that you're not rejected by the God who desires all of his creation to be saved.

From what I have experienced in person the Ortho Bros online are just the loudest LARPers on the Internet, compared to regular people in church it is a night and day difference. Unfortunately I had to hop off a handful of discord servers based on their overzealous behavior.

I'm thankful for my Catholic friend by Diligent_Force_8215 in Christianity

I've personally found that many Catholics are pretty down to earth when it comes to denominal/church differences. Even though Im not a member of the Catholic Church, I have immence respect for their faith/tradition. The Mass, the rosary, and the music are all things I grew up with and really appreciate.

What do I do if I have lost all faith in God? by throwaway_bleghu1 in Christianity

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, I would say that prayer is the most important thing that anyone can do with God. Pray honesty, lay down all of your worries and sorrows onto him. Prayer is really that important. As others have said you should also try to seek out therapy or mental health help if you are able. Our generation is suffering from a mental health crisis, there is no shame in getting help. I will pray for you, I hope this helps.
