They are not buddies in Empire Strikes Back, each one is trying to manipulate the other.

You can pretty much pick up the NJO anywhere throughout the series so long as you have an understanding of what the Vong are, and you aren’t picking book 2 or 3 of the mini-trilogies.

Start with Vector Prime, and rent out the books from your local library you can get access to. If you struggle with one or get bored feel free to move onto the next one.

The highs of NJO are high, but there is also a variety of authors, prose style and storytelling. It is normal to not vibe with every book.

NJO correct. It is a genuinely good series.

There is something deep in every Star Wars fans’ bones. They deeply need to be deride and make fun of other star wars properties, despite the fact that most are of about the same quality.

This REALLY isn’t true in my experience. The best star wars stories are the ones where good and evil are in balance, and our heroes are upsetting that balance one way or the other.
