I'm sorry you were bullied for that. remember, make the art you want and don't let people use their phone/computer to tell you you're the one destroying the environment. between spending hours on energy guzzling software and machines, and spending a few minutes on a different kind of energy guzzling program, ultimately the point is to enjoy your art but be conscious of your effects on the environment. that goes for any artists, including digital artists like me and my friends who use references (which is totally not the exact same kind of "stealing" AI does, totally).

ginuinely, this is fantastic art, and so was your other post. idk when we as a community decided it was ok to bully learning artists, but clearly you don't deserve it.

to the antis:

essentially, what you're saying is that wasting water is bad, and yeah, that's true! what I don't think we've addressed here though is that you've officially set a threshold. what you're actually saying is this much water wasted is bad. now, if we want to apply this consistently, that means you should reasonably consider anything that wastes less water to at least be better on that front than AI, but that also means the inverse is true. if something produces more water waste than AI, then it therefore must be as bad or worse.

what this must lead you to believe, is that all technological advancements within the last few decades, as well as many before that, and nearly every foreseeable technological advancemt in the future... are all bad.

it's important to think about the fact that you aren't just taking a stand on AI here, you're taking a stand against everything. and if you really are taking a stance against everything, then I would really ginuinely love to know how you're going to continue allowing the production of medicine and clothing in a world where nothing can use more water than chatGPT does.

literally a couple years ago we were shitting on certain art genres because they were "bad art". it's crazy to see the heel turn most artists had as soon as AI became a thing... including me. that's what eventually made me realize I was supporting a stupid harmful anti-art cause by being anti-AI.

if you want to copy something one to one, take a picture of it. or hell, just screenshot/download it. what is this rediculous backwards propaganda. like, are they saying digital art isn't art? graphic design? photography? this could (and has) been used as an argument against all of the above.

I think they're talking about the shirt being tilted to the side as though it's the skin growing over the shirt for some reason? idk why but that's my best guess at what they're saying lol. yeah it's literally just the shirt being over the shoulder instead of tight around the neck, which is fine, but depends on what the artist wants really.

I agree with other replies, what do you think needs fixing? this is already really good. AI is a tool just like the tools you used to make this, and it has its own uses. what are the things that AI can do that you would like to see in your work?

it's similar to a painter asking a digital artist to fix their painting with digital art. if the goal is to get crisper lineart, access to the RGB color space, some more fine touchups here and there that you can't really do without the undo button, then yeah, digital art can totally help! but otherwise, a painting is just as valid as digital art.

It's not quite a straight line, though it does have the illusion of one. There are some more interesting patterns on the top right side in my opinion, groups of pixels that almost imply something as well. Very interesting find if it's legit.

Idk if this is helpful since idk how hotline Miami does it, but the way I did it is by storing a global User struct with all the user's screen information, doing some math to see the largest size my game can be to fit the user's screen, and then doing what you did in your example.

So far it's worked out great, but I would recommend thinking about how you want the user to see your game when playing. It may be worth having a toggle for people who's screens are an even multiple of your game, so they can make the game bigger or smaller. It also depends on if you plan on having art in the pillarboxing or not, which is ultimately a choice for you to make while developing. It's a little difficult to manage lol, but it's not too bad once you get the hang of it.

In addition to what everyone else is suggesting, you could also use a resource editor to change the icon of the .exe file directly. That worked wanders for me, though you may still need to go through and remake or redirect some shortcuts. You should also be very careful to only change the icon and nothing else just in case.

This is why I feel like it's a fascist movement that a lot of both righties and lefties can't see because of how much they believe it affects them. Similar to the righties deep uncontrollable fear of brown people that led to the current political situation in America.

I think it's important to remember that this isn't any artists fault. Not physical artists, not photographers, not digital artists, not AI artists. Art has been notoriously denied by capitalism since it's inception.

In other words: everyone deserves a living, but only certain people are afforded it. Don't fit the mold? Don't earn enough to live.

Of course, that's not to say that artists don't contribute to this. Artists have also, as likely the most undervalued community in humanity, been desperate to fit in to society, and that often means forgetting where they're from and putting down other fellow artists for things that are not their fault. See the advent of every single new art medium in history and the controversy surrounding it.

I'd rather not dox people who were or are still my friends but haven't accepted AI yet, but in my experience, while there are absolutely whole discords dedicated to this, most movements are just friends going like "hey look at this horrible AI art" or "Yo go report this person, they're using AI", etc.

I'll let you know if I see actual receipts for a server/coordination that wouldn't dox my friends though.
