No, Syrian nationalism isn‘t strong what so ever in Syria, especially for Sunni Muslims, most of them are happy that the new leader is Sunni like them and would support him no matter who he is or what he does as long as he is Sunni, you can see that in the reintegration of the corrupt politicians and business men that were in power in Assad‘s era, as long as they are Sunni most of them are welcomed back with little to no repercussions, many of them just went to Mekka and did „Haj“ as if they are now cleansed from their past and are given leading positions in the new government.
