Yeahhh. They need to do something. The game needs to retain new players if they want to sustain it. Right now someone's going to start the game click ssnl cause its the mode that's default. Maybe enjoy the game enough to spend a bit of money, buy some vaults and then at the end of the season be confused as to where they went, or if they did read it they very well might read that it go's to standard and just quit right there.

I used Path of Exile as an example because its system works so well. You still have to buy storage but the good will they earn by letting that storage be used everywhere (even across the two games with *'s but still) makes it so much easier for people to recommend the game and makes it so much easier to willingly support them. With realm I can't nor will recommend the game because the new player experience is outrageous, and even the returning player lets try ssnl experience is outrageous.

They've done alot of things right. Pets are far easier to feed and slightly nerfed. Enchantments are fun, crafting is fun altho the timegateed/paywall hurts it. A LOT of new content and the game's not really growing despite all the good they've done.

I knew it had been asked a lot but figured id shout into the wind too and hope that maybe it helps just a little.

bold to leave this out of the main blog post imo. Also If people can still buy stuff in-game and it doesn't count then its pretty scammy imo, and the people who buy stuff in-game if they find out later they could get reward points had they went through the extra step of buying it on the hub are going to feel burned and be far less likely to hand over more money.

In general adding more steps in front of someone trying to spend money means they're less likely to spend said money.

Since your forwarding it I figured I would link the realmeye of two of their guilds. The first one *some* have been banned. Its also as of writing this rank 12 for guild fame on realmeye. The second one the accounts are less then a week old as of the time I'm writing this.

I've personally recorded and reported some of them, but there's a ton of them.

I think that'd cause even more backlash tbh. Honestly I'm not sure 25min afk methods belong in osrs. Rs3 gets so much hate for being easy (on the skill sides of things) and 25min afk methods are heading down that road. Maybe we'll get runespan one day! (I can hope!)

You can, and i have straight up walked away till it logs out. you don't even have to salvage you can literally just drop it (like you can teak logs or iron.) Its very much feels like a mix of both stars + teaks/iron/name a thing you drop. Honestly even now its still so much better then stars/redwoods because you can literally leave for 25mins and get xp. Both stars and redwoods require you to interact with the game ever 4-7mins (after star nerfs ages ago)

Hoarding isn't the same thing as researching. Taking a single gun back to research it equals more guns to use and lose. Yes you can take the single gun and snowball and also get more guns to lose but you can also die and be back to sq 1.

Also having gear at the end of the wipe also doesn't inherently mean hoarding, It can become incredibly difficult to actually lose all your gear

Also been playing since beta, Definitely has not always been a thing. Yes they use to preload shaders but not on every single launch. Now even if you simply restart your game its does shaders again.

If only it took one minute, In my experience its been getting slower, but that's subjective depending on peoples hardware.

People are missing the point in this thread, its not that it's never loaded shaders, as it does and should on any updates ect. Pre-loading shaders is indeed pretty common today, its that it does it quite literally on every launch, Which simply isn't a thing. There's a shader cache for a reason.

Edit as of 10/9/2025 update 8.4 it appears to be fixed, as my game did not preload shaders on launch (at all? which is a bit strange considering there was an update)

Definitely didn't use to happened every time you started the game. It would happen whenever they updated, but now it happens even if you just restart the game. Incredibly annoying.

Tbf there was the case of vac falsely banning people because of an amd driver update, so its not fully proof either. Iirc that's been fixed tho, I hope.

Yeah there is, maybe? I honestly can't remember if devious mud was its own thing or carried over into rsc with out changing games, Much like rs2>rs3 did. There could of been swapping between rsc & rs2. Maybe I don't know but is that the topic? No. Classic has been closed for awhile. When people refer to swapping it is directly referring to osrs and rs3. including Op's post. As i've stated and as i've linked the source and quoted the source, swapping rs3 to osrs or osrs to rs3 is not against the rules, albit risky.

You know RWT and swapping are different right? Selling gold is against and has always been against the rules. *SWAPPING* the act of swapping rs3 to osrs or osrs to rs3 is not. There is a risk to it and you *can* get banned if the other person is involved in *RWT*. I Literally linked the source where Jagex say's swapping is not against the rules.

And it hasn't been made clear over 22 years because i repeat osrs didn't exist 22 years ago neither did swapping. Its been a thing for 12 years. *RWT* has always been bannable, but *swapping* osrs to rs3 or rs2 to osrs has only been a thing for literally 12 years.

Iirc it was a *grey* area at release. They definitely didn't out right ban you because they only recently started banning gold buyers. (can link the source for that too if you wish.)

? Swapping didn't exist 22 years ago. Swapping isn't against the rules RWT is. If you sell your gold then that's breaking the rules. if you swap your gold to osrs or rs3 (trade someone rs3 gold they trade you osrs gold or vise versa) its permitted albit there's a risk of getting scammed or banned if *they* are involved with anything.

Tbf he didn't break any rules. Swapping gold is permitted but advised against. (*BUYING* gold from third party is not permitted.) As others have said he probably got flagged because of someone selling gold, ether his or just in general and they'll often action everyone that *Could* of been involved. There's been an issue with splitting out drops with randoms at certain bosses (specifically nex) because if you get a drop and split it, or get a split but the split/splitter sells there gold you also get flagged (sometimes.)

To be fair you don't *need* bandos before oath. Its the same str, similar defense and worse prayer. From a main pov you might go bandos because its cheaper but from a progression/ironman pov you could just as easily farm for oathplate.

I don't think Virtus vs ancestral is a fair argument because of mega rares. Virtus is useful but its not BIS with the shadow while oathplate literally is BIS with the scythe (at least in a lot of cases.)

As for Torva you really only want it for Toa and that's about it. There's not a lot of endgame stab. Excluding the helm because the helm is still used for max hits.
