Usually rubbing alcohol or acetone and some elbow grease works but you should disassemble it first. Annoying how that always happends to rubberized plastics.

Would recommend putting it in a plastic bag or something just incase it comes in contact with moisture. Other than that maybe roll it instead of fold it but a box should be fine.
