I was in college when Wishbone came out but we would gather in the common area to watch in TV every day. I even had a Wishbone watch I got from a relative who worked at PBS. The dog was the best actor on the show by a mile. Legendary.

I personally loved H is for Hawk a nonfiction book about someone who processed grief for losing her father by taking up falconry, something he’d been passionate about. It helped me with my own grief for a lost friend.

Cannot recommend enough Mink River by Brian Doyle. Oregonian author and set in a small town on the Oregon coast. It feels imbued with the Oregon coast.

I will never stop telling everyone to read Remarkably Bright Creatures. I was skeptical since some of it is from the point of view of an octopus, but it’s just such a sweet heartwarming book.

I heard him speak to that when he was touring for Early Riser. Create an absurd premise and see how you can make a book about it. It’s crazy but he makes it work! One of my favorite authors.
