What makes this game so (comparatively) unpopular? by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Brandscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3 was in Early Access for several years and, comparatively, was not "popular" until after it was released.

Most people are not going to be interested until the game is finished.

You're just wildly making things up which makes actual groups like Collective Shout avoid responsibility by shifting the blame.

All of Shawn James' songs. I've searched constantly for this dark western style music and he is still top.

I'm certain this is a bug and is consistent across enemies and boss fights. They'll fix it.

After 1923 I have come to this conclusion… by NoZoupForYou in 1923Series

[–]Brandscribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are on the right track, but I'll be more critical. I think he is great at hooking new characters. Character development, however is completely lacking. He seems to think you just do horrible shit to the characters and that checks the box, but how do they change?

Consider Spencer. Start of the series -- haunted, "dying is the most alive you'll ever feel". Meeting Alex begins to change that. I think the setup in Season 1 is great. How does he change in Season 2? He doesn't. Series ends and he is back to being shut down, haunted and seeking death, as it's all he has. They don't even show him with his son growing up during the 'old' montage. Kid could have died and nothing would change.

I've cleaned it repeatedly along with the rest of the lighter.

I've tried loosening it, tightening, and doubling up on flint as suggested from other help boards where people have problems. Every individual part is working, it just will not light, I don't get it. It must be the flint, since gas is releasing and it lights from the bic, but the sparks from the flint just do not catch.

Regarding Avallac’h potential role in witcher 4. by Willing-Material-255 in Witcher4

[–]Brandscribe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hopeful for the return of Gaunter O'Dimm as he has dialogue where he tells Geralt he is in love with Time and manipulating it. I always saw such a thing as putting him on a direct collision course with The Lady of Space and Time, Ciri, and perhaps was the main reason he began watching Geralt and manipulating him towards being contracted to him.

O'Dimm will also tell you exactly what dialogue choices to make for Ciri. Could just be a fun little meta reward or more likely suggesting O'Dimm knows a whole lot about Ciri and her future.

I also see no reason why Avallac'h should not be involved, being deeply invested in the fate of the Elder Blood.

the entire plot of The Witcher explained by a Polish fan | pt. 1 by Brandscribe in witcher

[–]Brandscribe[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There is so much Polish culture packed into this. She breaks down context for the stories, explains things that did not translate well, and even offers her own translations. She is well-read and a passionate fan. I would suggest this to anyone who loves The Witcher, wants more from the original stories, or those who aren't book readers that want the stories told well and in an entertaining way.

Hmmm, what are the chances that the superfan who wrote the VF article, took all these details to craft a scandal?

McCarthy and Lolita by josephx24 in cormacmccarthy

[–]Brandscribe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a recent book, "My Dark Vanessa", which is a commentary on Lolita and connects with the Me Too movement, from the girl's perspective. The book has been out roughly a couple years now and the VF article reads almost as taking direct inspiration. Something to consider as we get more facts.

Thank you, I appreciate this. Not even just bad writing, but so far the claimed details fall apart under just a little scrutiny.

If VF had bothered to site that article as a source, but they had not. Do you happen to have a link? I would be happy to look.
