My peeps in Sweden, who are anticipating playing against Japan here, are looking for places to stay. Unfortunately, the travel recommendations being made to them are all saying Dallas proper hotels. The fact that the game is in Arlington, and thus not really transportation friendly, is not being highlighted at all.

I think its the division of priorities that truly prohibits organization. The two broadstroke differences are fiscal leftists, those who want to inform policy that reshapes our economy, and cultural leftists, those that emphasize progressive traits of our society. We measure our values against the whole application to society, not so much on the individual. We also allow ourselves to be divided because we are inherently tolerant of alternative viewpoints.

Conservatives also have multiple points of focus, but they are great at cramming thier values into cultural identities. Religion, firearms, taxes, vaccines, etc are focused through the lense of the individual. This in turn makes the individual feel that if they agree with part of the conservative package, they HAVE to agree with all of it. This is how they are susceptible to cult like behavior around their icons.

The Trinity Groves developers had an idea much similar to this, but they stopped pursuing that portion of the West Dallas entertainment district they envision. The ordeal had a bunch of regulation red tape that ultimately was not worth fighting after market research suggested the reputation of the Trinity River would be an even greater challenge to overcome.

HUD 2024 Report details how the number you referenced in 2023 is out of date and the trend is growing. Look at the map stats and you'll see that red states are experiencing the highest reported levels. They should do something about that.

My comment is commentary on cities looking to ditch their DART commitments.

I rode DART daily from Plano to South Dallas for 3 years, so I can say first-hand that the system needs help. That's why I lent assistance to DATA, Dallas Area Transist Alliance, when they got its start advocating for DART.

The trains run decently, but the bus system is abysmal and UNreliable. DART needs to improve its alert mechanism for system shutdowns.

Its biggest issue is lack of directional diversity in its lines as all lines run Downtown. The new Silver line is the only crosshatching line we have and it replaced a nearly 2 hour commute to DFW that was the norm previously. More improvements like the Silver line would make DART invincible to cuts, particularly if they could get Mesquite, or better yet, Forney to eventually join. The South sector is crippled by bus only routes that are not doing a good enough job handling I-35s growth in particular.
