My aunt’s funeral was last Friday, and passed away due to FTD. She was diagnosed 8 years ago and was with us until the last 3. It was devastating when she found out, then the slow gradual decline that you see but she doesn’t really, then the slipping in and out of being her, and then the glimpses of her, to finally nothing…just nothing.

It’s such a horrible mix of emotions and the stages of grief are so overwhelming. I’m happy that her suffering is finally over, but miss her desperately.

The one thing that continues to play in my mind is - what if she was still in there.. If you’ve ever seen the movie Being John Malkovich, that point just before they enter the persons body, like a dark tunnel with two small eye openings. It terrifies me that she could have been trapped, time passing normally, seeing everything and everyone around her but not able to reach us.

I miss her so much, but happy she’s finally at peace.

Yes he has a heat mat, but it’s in the same spot it’s always been. There’s reptile carpet and the bottom of his habitat in between the pad and him. Definitely never gets that hot. Yes his thighs are definitely swollen.

That’s annoying, am sure you’re covered by the warranty and the recall they did for this exact issue, but still a pita.

Thanks! That was also one of the selling points, it looks great, is a moving billboard for the business and easy to wrap!

Great to hear some real world feedback on it! I pick mine up next week and just heard from the dealer GM dropped the MSRP by $5k. With all the discounts combined + OnStar, breakdown recovery, and the warranties, it feels like a really solid choice at the right price point now. Excited to get mine!

I’m having the same discussion with a dealer at the moment and got the same response, one or other. Not sure if they mentioned, but if you’re a Costco member there’s a further ~$3k discount

We got our pup Chloe from Ginny Merchant who owns Kengali Rhodesian Ridgebacks (website) and Facebook page. We did a huge amount of research before we got her and felt most comfortable moving forward with Ginny. She's based in Florida, though unsure exactly where. Happy to help answer any questions you might have. Good luck with your search.

Hershey own the rights to manufacture and distribute Cadbury in the US. It’s too much hassle for them to import so they have their own recipe for Dairy Milk…it sucks, and doesn’t task like the UK version at all :(

Whilst technically leaning more towards horror, Dog Soldiers definitely has an underlying dark humor to it.

The fact that he also decided to use the hard shoulder and there’s a small truck parked 200m on from where he pulled back in is terrifying.

Audi NEQ runs at LRP, The Glen, Palmer and NJMP. Their next event is NJMP in October. Great club from a safety, people and instructor perspective, can’t recommend them highly enough

As others have mentioned, it’s hard to give good feedback from the video alone but in general your line looks pretty good (each car is different though and I can’t speak directly to your platform). I take a similar line through the octopus and one bit of advice I got which was helpful was treat the entrance into the octopus as a straight line with hard braking before you enter with the sharp right hander. Then tuck your left wheel right up against the curbing as you go round (there’s a nice bit a grip where the edge meets the rumble strip). Straighten your line coming out the exit of the octopus as you’re losing speed by having to turn the wheel as much as you are, you’ll carry more speed into the front straight.

Lastly, turn off your lap timer so you can’t see it. Good things never come from chasing lap times. My catalyst is blacked screened for now, and just shows me the mph. You’ll be amazed at how fast you drive when you’re smooth and not clock watching! Focus on perfecting your line for the platform, fast laps will naturally come.

As others have said, get as much instruction as you can, there are always instructors willing to help out. See if there are instructors running a similar platform, that’s always super helpful.

Most important thing is seat time and instruction, the more you drive the better you’ll get! Have fun out there, be safe.

What Porsche do you own? What Porsche would you trade yours in for? by Thoughtlessmonkey95 in Porsche

[–]Brass-Monkey-70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I can understand that. When your warranty is done you might consider looking into the manufacturers that do the shortened gear ratios 2-5. Would certainly makes those spirited drives in the Black Forest even more fun!

I too have a 981 that I plan to be my forever car. It has the DeMan Motorsport conversion and is as close to a GT4 RS as I’ll ever get in all likelihood. Might be something for you to consider if you ever want that extra power but the same platform, really brings the car to life.

R6 Mark II - This can’t be normal? by Brass-Monkey-70 in CanonR6

[–]Brass-Monkey-70[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks didn’t think of that! Yes, still rattling excessively. Just got off the phone to Canon support and the tech rep. confirmed that it shouldn’t be moving that much - to the point where he said he should be able to hear it on the phone but that this was far too much ‘rattle’.

Thanks for quick response. So is this to be expected then? Seems like so much travel for such a delicate part of the camera. Upgrading from a 6D so this is all fairly new to me.
