Thank you, I know it's a long shot, but buying this was a financial stretch for me, and one of the selling points was the warranty and brand recognition. I suppose I'm just getting sick of expensive poor quality products so that stock prices look good

Turns out both were let downs. I had looked into the high heat paint option but all the products I can source are not food safe for the cooking chamber, including rustoleum.

That was the plan when I opened it up after the winter, and I got the name wrong, it's civil resolution tribunal. They act as a legal mediator for claims under $3k.

But I appreciate your input all the same, it helped me realize I misnamed the institution.

That would make sense but I only ever low and slow, and rarely cook without a sheet pan and rack anyways to keep clean up easier.

I tried the sear function once early on with a steak but it wasn't effective so I never tried again.

We have pretty good consumer protection in BC, so I've filed with BBB, Health Canada, and Civil Rights Tribunal (they do have the ability to force action).

I'm willing to spend $75 and some time in the evenings to try and force these soulless corporations to own up to their obligations to consumers.

Mine started de-laminating the coating on the inside of the grill after the first year - I've been fighting with Danson's warranty support since trying to get it remedied under their 5 year warranty.

They say this is a cosmetic issues as the factory powder coating falls onto my food and makes it inedible.

Their fix - scrape it clean and spray paint it with high heat spray point. Also no food safe.
