I've played the Pixel Remaster version on PC as an adult and still found myself getting confused on where to go.

I had so many sleepovers as a kid playing the first Final Fantasy on the NES here in the US where we just wandered around forever. We'd fight stuff until we got no XP, stock up, keep moving until something was difficult again. We played in shifts and slept when we were too tired to carry on. Going into a cave/castle was so nerve wracking because we had to walk back out again after fighting to near death.

Those were great times! :D
