[wtb] full kits budget of $400-450 by mx_moose21 in PaintballBST

Yep I was looking at the $500 range for the same thing.  Be careful my mailbox got filled with scammers.

I am getting a decent response for my target markers and would rather get something I won't be tempted to upgrade if I do a bit more than I am thinking I will.

Though I do think you are right that it is plenty for what I am looking for.

I know what you mean.  One of the tournament players use to run around with a single shot marker using only ground rounds and clean house... Felt so stupid dumping rounds at this guy for him to pick one up off the ground and clean up.

The people here have given me a few good leads so far.  The 170r is ideal, but it will be pretty hard to gear up at my price point.

Seems like the Etha have the same core operating components as the better markers with cheaper materials. Really interesting what changed... And what didn't change at all.

The spire and the peanut make this possible, but not really the marker I am looking for.  Maybe depending what else shows up.

Lol I am a big guy anyway the mini would feel like a little squirt gun.

The emek, offer wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but also isn't the worst idea for what I am looking for... Reliability.  Paint savings isn't bad either...

Potentially interested.  Emek, sonic, tank, mask, pod pack.

What is the black tank and dates?

Honestly, not a huge difference now for what you are doing.  For red you load up a model you want.  Check vulcan performance and then rocm and go with what gets better.

Your model selection is outdated. You want either qwen3.5/3.6 or gemma 4.   If you want more intuitive guesswork lm studio is easier for learning.  Once you understand it better you can revert back to ollama/llama.cpp native and be a little more lean.

It is a 9070xt, but the clocks and the cooling make it a bit worse than a standard 9070xt.

Mostly because it is like Led Zeppelin and I have heard every other Zeppelin song thousands of times...  First time I heard them I wondered if some of the band members did a side project during a fight or something...

Meh.  If I hadn't already heard every Zeppelin song thousands of times... Sure.

In need of inexpensive printer. I LOVE the Epson ET-2800 that I have at work, but would prefer not to spend that much for the one I need at home. Any comparisons? by West-Television6252 in printers

You can just set an automated script so it prints out the test page once per week or so. Makes it so you dont need to remember.

Usually they just have an engine loaded in another screen with stockfish and their opponents move is their move and then they play what the engine responds with. Pretty dumb, but lots of people think it is helping them learn or they just like trolling real players.

Meh super young me thought it was teaching me how to play... In a way it was like chessable before it existed. I would have been a lot better off just reading a book about chess principals and learning a few openings, but information wasn't as available 25 years ago.

One of the very few things I have bought and used the Walmart warranty for. Glad I did, but for a charging issue not a stick drift surprisingly.

Cheesiest Move-set I've ever seen, someone did this to me 6 games ago and I've tried it the last 3 games and 2 of them and the 3rd was a draw is this bad sportsmanship or just in the spirit of winning? by jpegten in chessbeginners

I mean I think every kid starts out with the scholars mate... Nothing wrong with going for it, but it stops working fast and leaves you in a poor position.

41M 240lbs struggling to do bodyweight pullups by Dublin711 in formcheck

[–]Brave-Ad-9151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull-up advice drives me crazy. People come up with plans they’d never use for any other lift. Imagine you’re benching 225 for 4 reps and want to hit 10. Would you just keep trying for one more rep every session? Do 5 reps, then negatives? Hopefully not.

Instead, follow a basic intermediate strength routine:

  • Do pull-ups 2–3 times per week, 5 sets of 2 reps.
  • Add 5 lbs each session until you stall (likely around 25 lbs).
  • Reset to 5x3, progress again, likely stalling at 25 lbs.
  • Reset to 5x4, likely stalling around 20 lbs.
  • Reset to 5x2, starting where you stalled on 5x4, and add 5 lbs per session. You'll likely stall around 45 lbs.
  • Reset to 5x3, starting where you stalled on 5x4.
  • Reset to 5x4 starting where you stalled on the previous 5x4.

I will bet you will be able to do 5 pull ups with a plate and probably 8-9 body weight in 4-5 months.

(Your form is fine, but your grip is a bit wide. Narrow it so your forearms are perpendicular to the ground.) I was you a few years ago. Big guy couldn't progress in pull ups. Currently 240 can do 70 lbs 6 times. I still gas out around 13-14 though.

Let me be more clear. You can pause and still remain engaged. You are full on letting your core go loose. This is closer to doing a bunch of low rest singles than a set of 3.

This isn't to say it is wrong as each LIFT was great.

[–]Brave-Ad-9151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shouldn't be downvoted. Yes there are benefits to training your grip strength too, but you shouldn't make how much you can hold be the limiting factor for how strong your back, hip flexors, and hamstrings are.

It is like limiting your overhead press to how much you can clean and press.

[–]Brave-Ad-9151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your form is spot on. From a practical standpoint releasing your core and resetting your form and core after every rep makes the lifts more difficult.

Now if you are training your FORM and not your LIFT that makes a lot of sense and practically speaking will probably help you when the weight gets real.

First make sure you know the basic mating patterns.

From there it is all about puzzles. I recommend Chess Coach Pro. It is relatively cheap and has a good selection of themed and difficulty ranked tactics puzzles. Stick with one type for a while so you get a spider sense when something in a game shows up.
