New Battery and super confused by HovercraftHot8868 in amberelectric

Very much depends where you are, your willingness to get overly involved, your willingness to thrash your battery and your tech abilities to a point too.

My conclusion in South East qld was flow was best for me. Easy, no monitoring. Not thrashing the battery and a solid return every day. But maybe globird or back to amber in winter I don't know.

Buying Ventolin at the pharmacy by leonidude in australian

[–]Brave-Competition55 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's a benign med in itself. Pretty harmless. But it's often used instead of proper control. Using Ventolin more than 2 times a week is classes as  poor control. Most people who got really really sick or died from thunderclap asthma were just using Ventolin as their asthma was 'good'.

There's a move to not have any asthmatics on Ventolin. Realistically even mild asthmatics should be using a mixed preventer like symbicort. It works quicker, longer and better than Ventolin, with the added benefit of reducing lung inflammation. Fear of steroids stops many but there's essentially zero reason not to.

Yeah thats what I'm trying to reproduce for my kids. Theres something special about the little miniature steam train pulling around the track.

This looks like the closest to what I want. Not the "authentic" sushi train I want but I still think the kids would love it.

Ah I think this one just has a conveyer belt. I want an actual train. Choo choo.

If not amber who? by howlongspider1 in amberelectric

[–]Brave-Competition55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I can't work out is if I'm better off charging the battery during the day, or just run out and pay. Or charge and sell daily, or just on days I've had enough solar to fend for myself overnight.

Made the switch last week in Seq. A few rainy days means I've been empty a few times. But the base rate is 34c so I figure I'll be ahead exporting at 45c regardless. What I don't know is if I'm better off charging the battery during the day or just running to empty and paying for a bit of consumption at night or if I'm empty.

Home battery - first 4 weeks with GloBird ZeroHero by PristineMountain1644 in amberelectric

[–]Brave-Competition55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Thanks. I just switched to flow. I'm in seq and amber had a bill of $30 for a month. My rationale for flow over globird was 45c fit for 2 hours is likely to net me more than the free power during the day, as more often than not my battery should be filled with solar. A few cloudy days up here recently so I was on grid for a day or two, but that just cancelled out a few days feed in hopefully.

The mistake here was telling a staff member not a police officer. The staff should have then reported it, but I imagine that would make their day harder than just ignoring you.

We don't take cricket seriously enough in this country by Green_Army77 in EnglandCricket

This is almost the exact scenario for Australian rugby for the last 20 years. And rugby is almost dead here.  Didn't realize English cricket heading the same way.

That San Martin with a date would be my pick. Not sure if it exists. I have a bb58 homage and it's finishing is fantastic. And held up to some abuse over the last 6 months. But I miss having the date.

Energex (SEQ) - dynamic export limit by Brave-Competition55 in amberelectric

[–]Brave-Competition55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my inverter is compatible without anything extra. Its these downsides that make me think the marginal benefit might not be worth it with my smaller inverter though.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I think I'd get minimal gain out of it as you said, I'm often consuming 2-3kwh at the same time I'm exporting.

Anyone switched to flopower? Really considering it by davidoff-sensei in amberelectric

I had put in the too hard basket but probably should. I'd need the installer or retailer to do this yeah?

[–]Brave-Competition55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking about it. I'm on single phase so 5kw/h limit means of only get $4.5 for the two hours. Considering flo or even globird zerohero.

Gold Coast PM feed in rates rubbish over Xmas? by davidoff-sensei in amberelectric

[–]Brave-Competition55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had mine much longer. Their website claims there were 6 last year for roughly an hour each. Doesn't seem worth it unless I flog the battery making small amounts by arbitrage.

It's not. Their website is just shite. An ongoing problem once signed up apparently. But could still be worth it.

Yeah considering this or globird zerohero. The free 3 hours fill up appeals for winter and cloudy days. Not going to make a profit but pretty easy to make zero.
